GASHWOUND
This Joe Posnanski guy is really getting on my nerves First he says a fews weeks ago saying that the Royals WILL win the central and now this? and we're being cocky??? He f***ing predicted that the Royals will win the central at the all-start break and he's complaing that Jerry guaranteed that the White Sox would win the next two. This guy is a moron http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/s...als/6466757.htm
mac9001
How can everybody be this cocky? Easy, the Royals suck. I'm still more worried about the Twins, then the Royals.
witesoxfan
I will be leaving him some feedback. If you guys wanna read it, here it is I would just like to leave Joe Posnanski a little advice. Joe, if you are going to write, take the rose-colored glasses off. Look at things objectively. And realize that the Royals can do wrong, unlike what you think. You are calling the White Sox cocky? Wasn't it you just a week or two ago that GUARANTEED that the Royals would win the division? How about how the White Sox are "buying their way to the top of the division" when in reality, they are just making moves to strengthen their ballclub, like any other team would do at the trade deadline(like for instance, the Kansas City Royals). If I recall correctly, you said that the White Sox essentially bought Everett and Alomar(and I assume you think they bought Schoeneweis too), yet, in each of those deals, they gave up something of good value. In the Alomar deal, they gave up a first-round draft pick and a pitcher that is already in the Mets bullpen. In the Everett deal, they gave up a pitcher who has a fastball that is one of the best in the White Sox organization, a player who has 5-tool talent, and a pitcher who could end up being a very good reliever for the Rangers(though all are at A-ball), and in the Schoeneweis deal, they gave up Gary Glover, who is a veteran in the majors. Meanwhile, the Royals are the ones doing the buying. Afterall, they did buy Al Levine from the Devil Rays, didn't they? That's what it looked like to me. Tampa traded Al Levine to Kansas City for cash? They didn't even give up a player, they BOUGHT him. You may be appealing to the fans of the Royals, but to many others, you are a laughing-stock. If you would like to change your outlook, please look at baseball, and specifically the Royals, objectively. The White Sox have a much better lineup and a much better starting rotation, and at the very least, the bullpens are very close, talent wise. Maybe the only thing the Royals have working in their favor is a great manager, and Tony Pena IS a great manager(see, that's your first lesson....that's called being objective). If you have the courage to defend yourself, email me back at [email protected]. Yes, I'm a White Sox fan, and I find your columns funny as hell. Signed, Blake Simon We'll see what happens in the next week or so
badabob03
Royal fans should be proud of their team but if they have any smarts at all they will realize the Royals are overachieving right now and the Sox are finally living up to their potential...It's only a matter of time and Pena's magic will run out...He sure is "spunky" for an old fart.... sox-r-us
I have sent an email to Mariotti and Rick Morrisser pointing them to this article and basically telling them how this idiot calls us (sox fans) and them (chicago journalists) cocky while he guaranteed a Royals division win at the AS game I would love to see Mariotti and Rick shred this guy. Boht these journalists of ours are capable to do it

Texsox
Am I the only one that would love to trade him for Mariotti? Objective is nice, but give me a nice dose of homer from time to time. Tell me this Sox team really can win the division. Don't tell me we have almost no bullpen and our manager flips a coin or calls the psychic hotline to figure out what to do. IlliniKrush
A few things: He talks about JM's guarantee of winning the final 2 games of the series. I would just like to know what happened in those 2 games, and his response. He talks about unveiling some of the worst uniforms in baseball. Damn, those all baby blue uniforms were so fashionable. While there is some substance for him saying we are cocky...well, you are still the KC royals, and we have much more talent than you...the division is ours if we play well, everyone knows that. And, someone inform this guy that we beat KC 5 out of the last 6 games we've played em, and get that response too.
Grebeck Fan Club
If I were a Royals fan I'd be crowing about their success this year. They've been terrible for almost 15 years. How can someone 'look like a gay'?
Wong & Owens
That one stat he threw out about the number of teams with a lead of at least 7 games at the All-Star break that DIDN"T go on to win their division. Wasn't it like 2 out of 50? Not good odds. For us, that is.

sox-r-us
I wrote to Rick Morrisey from the Trib/ChicagoSports.com and he replied to me: ====================== Mr Morrissey: What do you think about this article in the KC newspaper? If possible, I would love to see you respond to him in one of your articles. This journalist wrote an article around all star game time proclaiming the Royals had already won the division. And he blames us (fans) and you (journalists) of being cocky? ======================================== We ran that column in Wednesday's paper. I believe he will be having to write something different soon. The Sox have won five of the last six against the Royals. Rick
