Hopefully Brouwer. You can get someone to do what he does for a fraction of the price.

I have a (likely) irrational fear that Sharp will be traded. Frolik and Campoli, it seems, are likely candidates to stay. I doubt Stalberg will be back, and we'll see on Brouwer. A lot of it depends on how much the cap increases by. It's expected to go up about 3 million the last time I read, but I can't remember when we find that out for sure. I'd imagine the Hawks would like to add a more physical defenseman. I'd like to see John Scott go away to Rockford next season, but we're probably not that lucky.

Due to contract issues, I think Hammer, Sharp, or Brouwer or most likely to be traded, we will see what happen. It's good to get rid of that $4 million bonus and have both goaltending spots filled up.

No matter what happens with the roster, I think the Hawks still have to be a favorite and I can't wait for the season to start. Reading about the Boston parade and the fans excitement reminds of last season.

Trading Sharp would be a huge mistake, even though I understand that he holds the most value of any likely trade candidate. It would make the offense that much more lopsided and put more pressure on the top guys.

I think they need another 2nd-line scorer (preferably someone with some size) and a physical defenseman who's NOT slower than The Mummy.

Just saw this on the Twitter:

I'm told the upper limit of the 2011-12 NHL salary cap will be $64 million. The lower limit, or floor, will be $48 million. 6 minutes ago via web

McKenzie is generally very good. That would mean the cap will be up close to 5 million dollars (it was 59.4 last year, for those who perhaps didn't know) which is a bit more than I had been hearing in terms of prognostications. Perhaps the Hawks can keep a Brouwer now, or move him and try to get a pretty big named newcomer. We shall see.

The cap word officially came from the NHL and NHLPA about this time last year, so we'll get official word very soon by the way. The cap situation isn't 1/1000th as bad as last year, but the Hawks aren't in particularly great shape either, so every dollar counts.

I see you beat me to it.

This is good news for the Hawks no matter how you slice it. And you said it best, every dollar counts.

So with the bonuses being gone too, that's nearly $9 million more the Hawks will have. It should be enough to take care of any raises coming up and maybe sign a vet for more than $500k.

Being able just to stay pat is a huge step forward for the Hawks in terms of stability and building off of last year. If they are able to add to this, the Hawks will be in great shape, especially if Vancouver hits the cap wall now.

and lol@ the gold diggers

LOL all the way to my pants.

And the Hawks should look to deal Hammer IMO, and of course Soup. I would really like Bieksa, but I think he will be a bit too expensive for us.

Luxury brand Armand de Brignac, produced by champagne house Champagne Cattier, has unveiled the largest bottle of luxury Champagne in existence called the "Midas".

Identifiable by the dramatic Ace of Spades insignias on its bottle, Armand de Brignac boasts three prestige cuvees - Brut Gold, Rose and Blanc de Blancs.

The champagne bottle pays tribute to the mythological Greek king Midas, who had the ability to turn everything he touched to gold.

"Our Champagne is produced from grape to glass through traditional hand labor-intensive methods. It is aged in a gated section of the cellars considered one of the deepest in Champagne," said the family patriarch Jean-Jacques Cattier.

Each metallic bottle is crafted entirely by hand inspired by the famous fashion designer Andre Courreges. Two Ace of Spades insignias and four hand-applied pewter labels mark each bottle housed in a black wooden case embossed with the Champagne's royal crest.

The boxes are lined in velvet and fitted with an engraved nameplate to complement the Armand de Brignac Champagne within.

The first Midas bottle of Armand de Brignac was sold for $100,000 at the famous nightclub XS in Las Vegas' Encore casino - part of Steve Wynn's Wynn Hotels group.
