southsider2k5
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 12:49 AM) That's great, but it doesn't matter at all what the intentions were. No it wasn't on purpose. But a shoulder to a goalie's head behind the net is going to result in that, and rightly so. According to what we learned from Zetterberg and Weber, intent doesn't matter, only how injured they appear.
LittleHurt05
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 01:12 AM) You realize injury isn't the only thing that goes into consideration for a suspension? No, Shaw's actions have zero to do with Weber. Not to mention Zetterberg is not a goalie. Yes, but it's a major consideration. Brenden Shanahan has said as much and displayed it with his recent judgements.
Steve9347
That game last night was amazing. I, sadly, see Shaw getting a game or two. I don't care, though, as he did what the Hawks needed to do!
maggsmaggs
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 12:25 PM) That game last night was amazing. I, sadly, see Shaw getting a game or two. I don't care, though, as he did what the Hawks needed to do! See I don't think he will get anything more than a fine for three reasons: 1) no injury, 2) no clear intent and 3) no past history. Those are three of the critical factors that Shannahan uses when assessing whether someone deserves a suspension. With all three absent, I cannot think he gets suspended. zenryan
Canada has the Canucks and we here in the US have the Penguins. Nice to see punks get embarrassed after all the media was swinging from their nuts.

No, Shaw's actions have zero to do with Weber. Not to mention Zetterberg is not a goalie. Did you see the suspensions today? Hagelin threw an elbow and got 3 games because Alfredsson had to leave the game with injury. Carkner jumped a guy who didn't wanna fight and kept pummeling him while he was on the ground and only got one game because there was no injury. It plays a huge part in the suspension. greg775
I was so happy/excited when the Hawks got that game-tying goal with just seconds to play ... again. Man, maybe this is a team of destiny. 2-0 woulda been pretty s***ty deficit. Now you'd think Hawks will kick some butt at home and wrap up this first series pretty quickly. LittleHurt05
Luongo is getting benched tonight, Schnieder gets the start, which is funny cause Luongo has not been the problem at all.

Steve9347
I really wish the Hawks had a game tonight. I have a feeling we're going to see the first convincing win (jump out to lead, no need for last second heroics) of the series for the Hawks. They can and should take games 3 and 4, especially now that they are in Smith's head. That would effectively end the series. Go Hawks!

Pirri, 21, registered two assists and a +2 rating in five contests with the Blackhawks during the 2011-12 regular-season and paced Chicago with four goals and five points in four games during the 2011 preseason. Stanton, 22, matched career highs in goals (3), assists (14) and points (17) with the IceHogs this year and was named the team's Top Defenseman for the 2011-12 season. Stanton’s career-most 130 penalty minutes ranked second on the club, and the blueliner was the only IceHogs skater to appear in all 76 regular-season tilts. The St. Albert, Alberta, native has registered 35 career points (6G, 29A) and 206 PIM in 151 professional regular-season games across parts of three seasons with Rockford, and was honored as team’s Most Improved Player for the 2010-11 campaign. He set an IceHogs’ AHL single-season record with a career-best 2.35 goals-against average and became the first player in franchise history to be honored as the AHL’s Player of the Week twice in one season. The Thunder Bay, Ontario, native also made 14 regular-season appearances with the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye this year. Saad Saad, 19, appeared in two 2011-12 regular-season tilts with the Blackhawks, registering three shots on goal, and shared fourth on the club with three points (G, 2A) in six games during the 2011 preseason. He ranked second on the team with a career-high 34 goals and 76 points, sixth in the OHL with a team-high +35 plus/minus rating and seventh in the league with six shorthanded markers. The Gibsonia, Penn., native was honored with the William Hanley Trophy, given to the OHL’s Most Sportsmanlike Player. The Blackhawks will host the Phoenix Coyotes at the United Center at 8:00 p.m. CT on Tuesday, April 17 in Game 3 of their 2012 Western Conference Quarterfinals series.
