I love when people make statements like this. No one saw this coming, but it's not as if he's been getting by on smoke and mirrors. Maybe he's turned the corner, or put it all together, who knows. But what he has done is been damn consistent for a few months now. I see no reason he can't continue this for the rest of the year at this point. Doesn't mean he will, but based on what we've seen so far, making a statement like that seems pretty foolish to me.

I keep waiting for the fall to reality to happen, but we are almost halfway through the season. It is amazing what Humber has given us.

It's also how well he's actually throwing when he's in there. He's not walking anyone. That curveball can still wipe people out. He gets hit some if he doesn't have it, but since he's not walking anyone and pitchign ahead of people, he's able to get around that sometimes.

Besides the curveball, he really doesn't have a plus pitch. That is the amazing part of it all. This is all about his location and his approach to the hitters.

I listened to the Diamondbacks' broadcast for a couple innings and their announcers said that Humber had one of the the best curveballs in the AL for sure. Nice to hear something like that from someone other than Hawk (even if it was from an NL team).
