lostfan
QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 12:21 AM) LOL. What's your reasoning, greg? At the time he's about the most consistent HR hitter in baseball. People bashing KW for making a perfectly reasonable signing are being silly. Yeah really. His stats year to year were damn near f***ing identical... can't fault KW for not having powers of clairvoyance.
greg775
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 05:21 AM) There was not a better fit on the market to fill the DH hole, nor will you find anyone else who was so incredibly consistent. Or is ALL his past production irrelevant? Is he or is he not too heavy?
TheBigHurt
The Dunn signing was not KW's fault. He was perfect for the Sox. We can blame KW for the Rios thing, though. Dunn has been about as consistent a slugger as there is in the Major Leagues. For the past eight years, you know you are gonna get .400 OBP, .900 OPS and lots of Ks. With Rios, we picked him up and his fat ass contract when he was hitting awfully and had been declining the past few years. Yeah, no kidding. This organization seems to take a lot of chances of taking big guys on their decline and hoping they find their thunder again. This one REALLY backfired on KW. greg775
Nice to win a game in which we left so many on base again. That's why you have to play a good defensive lineup. We can't hit, so no more Teahen at third.

Cubs announcer likes to be the public apologist for awful Cubs' hitters. Come on man, Sergio hung no fewer than 10 pitches that inning, he's just lucky Soriano and company are awful. Heads22
greg, you still haven't answered me. Should we just ignore all of Dunn's past production? Can we use that same standard with other players?
