greg775
QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 03:22 AM) I don't blame Santos to start the 10th, but the freakin' pitch selection just is mindboggling. Like really a changeup on 1-2, after u just wiped out zimmerman with the slider. Tell me if I'm wrong, it seems his only really good pitch is the slider. Sergio is my man, but I think he still has a lot to work on/learn on the mound.
hi8is
QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 03:24 AM) I'm an Ozzie supporter. Avoiding Crain and Thornton completely in favor of Bruney and Santos in a non save situation (I *despise* the latter) is confounding. Me no understand. caulfield12
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 10:20 PM) GMAFB - he's the best pitcher in the pen. And you blame ozzie for this? This isn't about the homer. That's one issue, getting beat because you don't have confidence in your FB. The issue is that normally, at least in 3 outings, Sergio walks or hits hitters in these situation and gives up a crooked number. If I'm not mistaken, this is the only time he's not been blown out of the game and given up an additional 2-3 runs after he's surrendered the lead or tie. fathom
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 25, 2011 -> 04:26 AM) A 96 mph fastball is a pretty good pitch too. And his change has been good several times this year, including games where he didn't have his good slider. He needs to learn how to get swings and misses with his fastball. Throws it over the plate a lot, but would be more effective with some occasional ones at the eyes with 2 strikes.

The games I watch it's slider or nuttin for K's.
