caulfield12
Well, this game is an exercise in offensive futility. No winner, winner chicken dinner on that gamble. Should have gotten hung up so the runner could try to get to 2B. Brutal. Carlos Lee-esque there. Werth has to be running. Balta1701
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 09:24 PM) Legitimate question: at what point do you bench Dunn? I'm all for letting him work it out if you're not in a pennant race, but since we've climbed back into contention, you can't keep letting him hurt you. Hopefully he'll figure it out in the next few months, but for right now, the big man needs to take a step back and regroup. I don't think you can, not for more than a couple games, at least not without a dl stint.
Real
QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 08:29 PM) who the f*** did AJ think he was for b****ing at Peavy when he can't even throw out a runner with a pitchout. Pathetic. Agreed, and Peavy wasn't even pitching *that* poorly, not a QS but not worthy of being shown up But that's for a different thread

caulfield12
Peavy making the "knife to the neck" gesture at AJ's throwing futilty. Joking... With Jackson's stuff tonight, it seems like the Nationals will have to steal 2nd and 3rd OR homer.

If they can make it happen, a DL stint might be a good idea. Get a physical and psychological exam. Get an eye exam and get him in extended spring training working on his swing. Real
Yankees Montero is looking more and more like a Sox target, if we could acquire him this year it'd make him ready for the bigs after AJ's deal expires next year

ILMOU
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 07:34 PM) That's about the only option other than playing him. I would've called a pitchout on the 0-2 count when Werth stole 2nd. Of course, that would've only exposed AJ even more when he was safe. So maybe not a good idea.
