Well done Sale.

Really, the blame goes on nobody but the offense at this point. Humber threw 6 2/3, gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. He pitched phenomenally. You have to win when your pitcher has an outing like that.

Agreed completely, and it's a shame that he couldn't get any breathing room

Especially when you have 7 hits and only score 1 run. Yet Dunn is still in the lineup, and hitters such as Viciedo, Gallagher, De Aza and Kuhn are STILL toiling in the minors.

Good thing is I'm sure our players have confidence we can comeback after Friday night. Just can't allow more runs.

why they have not hit the last two days and Washignton's pen is very good. It is not real likely they will blow it. Friday the Sox lost so there really is nothing positive about simply prolonging a game at this point.

We have to be worst in the majors in going 1st to 3rd and 2nd to home. Rizzo was on talking about how their goal (Washington) in the offseason was to improve in this specific area, as well as the defense. It seems like we're getting worse and worse in this area, if that's possible.

Of course, Juan Pierre now has locked up playing time for another week, SIGH.

Humber tired at 90 pitches and Hernandez is breezing at 120

this offense is an epic embarassment

Humber has ALWAYS been tired by the 90 pitch mark.

You can't sit fastball on Livan for multiple reasons. 1, he has a ton of movement on it back in to righties and away to lefties. At the same time, it looks a lot like his slider except with reverse late action. And it's hard to hit the big looping breaking ball because he changes speeds on it and it really does drop of the table. Yeah, he's throwing junk, but he's effective as all hell with it.

9 freaking strike outs for Livan? Seems like one of those games that afterwards, the pitcher will say he simply pitched the way the scouting report told him to.

Too bad there isn't an extensive scouting reporting on Hernandez that our hitters could look at. It's not like he has been around for awhile......

Prior to today, his season high was 7 strikeouts in a game.

The last time Livan Hernandez struck out 9 in a game was September 26, 2004.

I had to scroll back through 8 years of game logs to find that.
