kapzk
Pretty ridiculous. Lets hope he gets in through the vote in. But this is beyond stupidity, even tho 1B is stacked, Konerko deserves it and so does Humber, but there are a ton of good pitchers, but seeing Cuddyer make it in front of Konerko is disgusting. Forgot, Congrats to Quentin on his selection. Edited July 4, 2011 by knightni
chw42
QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 11:23 AM) Pretty ridiculous. Lets hope he gets in through the vote in. Forgot, Congrats to Quentin on his selection. The Twins need a representative. Although I think Span was much more deserving. Swap Span and Quentin and Cuddyer and Konerko and I think it seems a lot more fair.
Leonard Zelig
I don't get too upset when Sox players don't make it because I figure they can use the rest. I do think Konerko earned a spot though.
chw42
Humber should definitely be on the team.
Jake
Honestly, the biggest snub may be AJ. There is no competition at that position.
kapzk
For sure, its a shame. Konerko has numbers better than 85% of the roster. Heck Konerko can even be up for MVP if we make the post season, would be in stiff competition with Adrian Gonzalez. But MVP candidate nonetheless, biggest All-star snub. chw42
Cuddyer was probably also selected because he can play 3B and RF.
fathom
3 AL pitchers are currently scheduled to start next Sunday.
chw42
Aaron Crow made the all-star team? My goodness... If KC gets Gordon + Crow and we only get Quentin, Ron Washington needs to go to rehab.
chw42
Konerko made the final vote.
Leonard Zelig
Fans selected 17 starters (including an AL DH), the players themselves chose 17 position players and 16 pitchers (10 starters plus six relievers), and the two managers -- in conjunction with MLB -- handpicked 10 pitchers and six reserves. Are the non-starter selections made public?
dielac
PK is on the final vote ballot. Lets get it done soxtalk.
fathom
Konerko should have a great chance as he's not facing anyone from Boston or NYY
kapzk
Its also tough seeing Brandon League make it over Sergio Santos
Quin
Paulie was a ridiculous snub. But it seems the AL is full of them. Jeter shouldn't be allowed, Alexei should in all fairness be the starting SS. AJ got a snub at catcher. Humber, Sabathia got snubbed. So much bad.
Quin
QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 11:53 AM) Its also tough seeing Brandon League make it over Sergio Santos Oh WHAT the f***.
chw42
QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 11:53 AM) Its also tough seeing Brandon League make it over Sergio Santos I can understand League. He leads the AL in saves. But Chris Perez? WTF? Santos has been way better. Other than Crow and Perez, I can't argue that the pitchers selections are all that horrible. Gio had to go since the A's had no other all-stars.

chw42
Alexei's recent slump must have took him out of the running for a reserve spot. Cabrera and Peralta have far better offensive numbers this year.
