Friend of Nordhagen
Peavy is just flinging the ball up there. It's seriously unnatural at this point. The more fatigued he gets, or the more he tries to get on the ball, the more awkward his delivery becomes. That's not repeatability. That's dangerous. fathom
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 03:00 AM) Peavy just doesn't have it tonight. We pretty much have to accept that the Peavy on the mound tonight is who Peavy is now. With his less that plus stuff, he has to get better at throwing inside to righties. caulfield12
QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 07:54 PM) That's the problem right there, why sit a guy who Is doing well to play slugs? Then expect him to produce after sitting 5-6 days Who was playing well? Certainly neither Ramirez, nor Rios. The funny thing is that none of those balls were hit hard. A topspin single through the hole, a gork shot to RF and another seeing-eye single. Only 6 hits through 6 IP. Meanwhile, we failed to knock out a starter who's 0-6 with NUMEROUS chances with RISP. mcgrad70
This game has a high "pissability" factor. When the Sox finish their typical 5 or 6 games out of first, these are games that come to mind.

greg775
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 02:52 AM) sure glad Ozzie sat Lilli for 5 straight days when he was on a hot streak. That'll teach him. Cmon. How bout blaming the guy who strikes out way too much for a little skinny guy. This game is pissing me off. It's what I get for feeling good about Peavy/Lilly. caulfield12
Paulino at 112 pitches. He gets Morel and then he's out of there. The biggest difference here is the Royals make contact and put the ball into play. We've whiffed on most of our chances. I know overall we don't strike out as much as other teams because of AJ and Pierre in the line-up, but we've K'ed way too many times with RISP. caulfield12
Predictable. Yay, the Indians lost so we don't lose ground. The problem is that the Indians are going to beat up the Royals later, whereas we'll struggle to go .500 against them.
