fathom
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 02:25 AM) That was some vintage TCQ shooting it into RC Best swing in a while for him. I can't believe Lillibridge is batting here.
greg775
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 03:13 AM) You blame JR for Adam Dunn, really? Who would you have signed as DH? Certainly, you wouldn't have kept Mark Kotsay and Andruw Jones? I'd rather have Francour. I'd rather have Dayan. Anybody pretty much but Dunn. fathom
There is some really bad managing in tonight's game. I am stunned that he let him bat there.
greg775
I've seen enough of Lilly for a long while. Next.
ChiliIrishHammock24
Omgosh, absolutely AWFUL game for The Bridge. Might be the worst he has ever looked at the plate, seriously.
Soxbadger
Lilli's magic seems to be gone, time to use him as a super sub and more against lefties.
fathom
That has to be like 15 strike outs in his last 20 at bats against righties. If Rios is healthy, then shame on Ozzie for not using Teahen there. Edited July 6, 2011 by fathom
kapzk
Even Teahen would have done better today

JoshPR
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 10:02 PM) Who was playing well? Certainly neither Ramirez, nor Rios. The funny thing is that none of those balls were hit hard. A topspin single through the hole, a gork shot to RF and another seeing-eye single. Only 6 hits through 6 IP. Meanwhile, we failed to knock out a starter who's 0-6 with NUMEROUS chances with RISP. Hey peter gammons, i was talking about lillibridge

It won't happen unless we lose like 15 of our next 20. Even then, Atlanta likely wouldn't trade Beachy.
kapzk
Dunno why Vizquel and Lilli are both playing in the same game, its either you sub for Rios or Ramirez, one or the other not both

Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 09:31 PM) It won't happen unless we lose like 15 of our next 20. Even then, Atlanta likely wouldn't trade Beachy. I'm not even that enamored with CQ. '08 will never happen again, IMO. But there's no way we can afford to trade our second best hitter with so many other sub-league average performers and expect to win a thing this year. All things being equal, I'd trade CQ for Beachy in a fraction of a second. Edited July 6, 2011 by Jordan4life

caulfield12
Dunn and Lillibridge not exactly endearing themselves to the fans tonight. The Twins have a -70 runs scored/given up differential...3rd worst in the majors (only Cubs and Astros are worse) and they're only another week away from being right back into the middle of the division race. Yikes. Edited July 6, 2011 by caulfield12

caulfield12
Okay, we still have some bullets to use with Teahen, Ramirez and maybe Rios. Gordon with 3 bad at-bats after ripping a liner the first time up. Is sustained progress possible for Dunn, Beckham or Rios?
