sin city sox fan
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 08:21 PM) I wonder if any team in MLB history has started a hitter at #3 in July who had an average of .170 or below with over 200 previous at-bats that season? I think Adam Dunn fits that criteria

I'd have to look it up. But Caulfield did say in July. I doubt PK ever hit third at that cutoff point. Edited July 6, 2011 by Jordan4life

fathom
Awful, as he misses the hanging slider. When will our hitters learn they're going to throw 2-0 and 3-2 breaking pitches?

caulfield12
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 08:35 PM) Awful, as he misses the hanging slider. When will our hitters learn they're going to throw 2-0 and 3-2 breaking pitches? Especially when you get a 2-0 slider. You're not going to get a fastball at 3-2. southsideirish71
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 08:27 PM) I'm just saying it's an odd time to start spouting off about how s***ty this team is when they put together a nice collection of 2-out hits/runs to tie the game up. They are 12th in the AL with runs with 2 outs and RISP. I am glad they had the two hits and we scored the 2 runs. We however leave a s***load of runners stranded over the course of the year. Watching our hitters over the course of the year watch fastball after fastball over the heart of the plate while swinging at stuff in the dirt is a bit counter productive for a sustained attack.
