caulfield12
Ugh....how many runners have we left on the basepaths the last 3 innings? 7? 4 in scoring position, I think?
fathom
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 02:48 AM) We're almost to the point where Brent might be better off playing in the minors everyday and getting his hitting stroke back, but we can't afford to give up his defense and pinch-running. Or you know, we can just play him against lefties. He will probably be on the bench against Chen tomorrow.
greg775
You people are all smart baseball people. Can you comment on Lilly's approach at the plate? It is ridiculous IMO. It's really really dumb and bad.
kapzk
Can't believe I am saying this but Rios would have prolly been better at Lilli's place, at least Rios makes contact

caulfield12
QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 07:48 PM) Brent just needs a little time with a good hitting coach.....maybe we can do him a favor and arrange a trade to a team that has one He was playing over his head the first two months. He's not the kind of a player who should have a huge, longish swing path. He needs to make contact and hit the ball on the ground. Hitting all those early homers might have been the worst possible thing to happen to him.
The Ginger Kid
sure glad Ozzie sat Lilli for 5 straight days when he was on a hot streak. That'll teach him.

fathom
Sure seemed like we were playing Butler way too up the middle. From my recollection, when he pulls it, it's usually in that same spot.

fathom
Wow, Peavy couldn't have hung more pitches this inning if he tried. Horrible stuff by him on the mound, as even when he tried to throw harder, he only hit 92 mph. TAKE HIM OUT OZZIE

caulfield12
Peavy just doesn't have it tonight. Still, there's been only one hard-hit ball against him, the one by Escobar in the first inning to the gap. You just had the feeling that the White Sox were playing with fire not knocking the Royals out the last 3 innings with all the runners they left on base.
