Balta1701 Posted July 7, 2011 Share Posted July 7, 2011 The $6 billion James Webb Space Telescope appears to be on the chopping block for the current Congress, despite the fact that the Hubble won't last more than another year or two and much of the money on JWST has already been spent (the mirrors have already been polished, for example.) The House Appropriations Committee proposed Wednesday to kill the James Webb Space Telescope, the crown jewel of NASA’s astronomy plans for the next two decades.This would be roughly the equivalent of killing the Hubble in 1987.
