spiderman
Konerko obviously deserved it, but sort of funny that the White Sox anemic offense somehow lands 2 all-stars.
jeffro2525
QUOTE (spiderman @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 05:06 PM) Konerko obviously deserved it, but sort of funny that the White Sox anemic offense somehow lands 2 all-stars. I was thinking the same thing. Two hitters and no pitchers just doesn't seem right for this years team.
LittleHurt05
QUOTE (spiderman @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 05:06 PM) Konerko obviously deserved it, but sort of funny that the White Sox anemic offense somehow lands 2 all-stars. Or maybe it just shows how truly bad the other hitters in the lineup have been
Jordan4life_2007
Well deserved. That's 3/3. Pods, AJ and now PK.
bmags
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 11:14 PM) Well deserved. That's 3/3. Pods, AJ and now PK. I think it's actually like 3/5 or 6 edit: didn't mean to be downer. So glad for Paulie. Edited July 7, 2011 by bmags
kjshoe04
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 05:14 PM) Well deserved. That's 3/3. Pods, AJ and now PK. Yeah, Paulie has lost it 2 times before.

My memory blows. What White Sox were on the final ballot that didn't get in? I'm guessing Dye in '09 was one?
Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 05:20 PM) Yeah, Paulie has lost it 2 times before. Wow, I suck. I don't remember at all.
greg775
He deserves to go to that game. I'd watch it now to see him bat. Not so convinced CQ should be there over Humber. Of course now I've jinxed Humber for tonight's Twinkie game. Edited July 7, 2011 by greg775

Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 05:22 PM) Magglio in 02, Frank in 03, Paulie and Frank in 04, Dye in 09, Paulie in 10. Well that would explain my dumbness. I had it in my head the final vote system started in '05.
BigEdWalsh
Totally sucked the year Frank and Paulie were both on the ballot. Splitting the votes, they were both doomed. Anyway, way to go White Sox Army!!
knightni
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 06:22 PM) Magglio in 02, Frank in 03, Paulie and Frank in 04, Dye in 09, Paulie in 10. In the defense of most of that, the Soxtalk voting contingent didn't kick in until after '04 and Dye was up against Derek Jeter in '09. Rowand44
It's pretty absurd just how many times White Sox players have been on this damn thing.
The Beast
Like Homer Simpson's bird in his disability episode, I sat voting for Konerko today on some down time at work. Good to see that he won it.

knightni
Was it last year that Jeter was in the final vote, then?

Quin
QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 05:57 PM) Was it last year that Jeter was in the final vote, then. Last year was Swisher. Has Jeter EVER been in the final vote?
knightni
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 06:58 PM) Last year was Swisher. Has Jeter EVER been in the final vote? I remembered that it was Yankees players that beat out Sox guys. Maybe it was Swisher.
Cali
My memory might also be hazy, but I'm pretty sure both AJ and Pods didn't even get an AB's in the games they were voted in.... EDIT: I double checked: Pods was a defensive replacement in the 9th, No AB. AJ didn't get into the game at all...
