I watched a guy react weirdly to the shots he was talking, at one point falling to his knees. At no point did it cross my mind that he was acting hurt (pretty convincingly apparently) so that he could leave. I thought, wow, he's hitting some terrible shots, I wonder if he's ok. He's not going to win, and if anything he's going to make it worse and then lose a shot at possibly playing in the PGA Championship this week. As soon as we did I folded Now imagine playing in front of tens of thousands in the gallery for a purse of $10 million....I read a book called Paper Tiger about a guy who spent a year trying to get his tour card...he actually made it to a +handicap but whenever he would play tournaments he'd shoot in the 80's or 90's. He started seeing a sports psychologist and described some of the concepts he shared with him. I've been trying to use them lately and it has helped quite a bit with my mental game. One thing that messes with my head though is when I'm walking the course and there are people in carts behind me. I can't stand the notion of holding people up, even if there is a group directly in front of me that I am waiting on. For whatever reason I just cannot concentrate.
