caulfield12
The South Beach media must be really looking forward to the first annual LoMo/Oney Twitter War. Perhaps Joe Cowley will go south with the Guillens to cover and shill for them.
Balta1701
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 04:48 PM) The South Beach media must be really looking forward to the first annual LoMo/Oney Twitter War. If they'd like, they can trade LoMo and his twitter account to Chicago.
caulfield12
Maybe if we "mean Tweet" Guillen enough about pitching to Victor Martinez and Miguel Cabrera, he'll just quit. Not likely, but never hurts to try. This machisimo thing against Venezuelan opponents needs to end. greg775
It's pretty obvious he will be their next manager. They want him and our fans want to run him out of town. Easy to figure. He'll be very popular in Florida. And we will begin the 3-4 year cycle of managers again. Who will be the first guinea pig to take the Sox job? kwolf68
If Ozzie goes, take Ken Williams with him. This team is just as much a byproduct of Williams as it is Ozzie.
greg775
QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 10:05 PM) See ya, Oz. We're better without you anyway. Yeah we're better off without the only guy to win a WS in Chicago since the dark ages. We're better off with a guy Florida would do anything to get. He'll have the last laugh as in about 30 years he'll probably still be the only manager to win a WS in Chicago since the dark ages. p.s. It's Ozzie's fault that Dunn is a joke; Rios is a joke; Peavy is an albatross and the team couldn't get a clutch hit if the ball was put on a tee. All you guys that think he's a buffoon because of certain pitching changes, bunting, not bunting, etc., will have the same complaints when we lose a game with our next manager. It's the nature of the game. blame the manager. And I agree with Wolf. KW better follow Ozzie to the curb when Oz takes the Florida job for next season. And I'm not an Ozzie apologist. The right thing to do would have been to fire Ozzie in May after that horrific start. That start was inexcusable with our payroll. I still think he's a great manager, but he should have been fired then to kick-start his Florida career. caulfield12
FWIW, Jeff Conine is the most popular choice with most south Floridians. The question that ownership group has to answer (partially) is who is the name that best sells season tickets and is the face of the franchise with Hanley and Josh....is it Guillen, Bobby Valentine or Conine? That area is one of the high intensity demographic regions for Hispanics in the US, and that's another feather in Ozzie's cap. However, many wouldn't be surprised to see Dave Martinez also get at least an interview. Edited July 17, 2011 by caulfield12

Has he managed/coached anywhere? Little League maybe? Sounds like another Reinsdorf cronie hire. No experience, but he was a favorite of JR and he'll work cheap. Soxfest
JR is on Selig's MLB's minority hiring committee so I would not be suprised If JR gives another minority a chance at the managers job.............no Cora please. WHITESOXRANDY
It wouldn't surprise me if he managed there next year. It would probably be a good move for him to get away from KW. I just wish the Sox could get away from KW.

southsider2k5
I'm not quite sure how this couldn't be tampering. I didn't think you were allowed to talk about people under contract with other organizations, in the context of how they would fit into your organization. caulfield12
Selig will surely make the fine for his buddy JR be surrendering either Hanley, LoMo or Josh Johnson for compensatory damages.
