sox-r-us
Jayson stark from ESPN is reporting that the following players have cleared waivers and are available for a trade: Starting pitchers Livan Hernandez (Expos) John Thomson (Rangers) Freddy Garcia (Mariners) Sterling Hitchcock (Yankees) Rick Reed (Twins) Relief pitchers Jose Jimenez (Rockies) Mike DeJean (Brewers) Antonio Alfonseca (Cubs) Bats Rafael Palmeiro (Rangers) Tony Clark (Mets) Adam Kennedy (Angels) Darin Erstad (Angels) Any interest? Garcia is too expensive ......
quickman
I like Mike Dejean but he has begun to tail off. He normally has a great splitter. I don't hink he would cost that much
Guest wsc425
Erstad, Kennedy and Garcia would be great pickups.
mike12345
where would erstad and kennedy play??
Soxplosion
I was thinking that too. We have a second baseman and theres no room in the outfield. The only good choice on that list is Hernandez...
Heads22
I would like to see Garcia on our team. I also think Thomson would be worth a shot....after all, I do have his autograph.
Guest wsc425
where would erstad and kennedy play?? Well ok I see it this way. The Sox will lose Carl Everett and Roberto Alomar after this season. But by getting these two youngins from the Angels, they beef up their lineup, bench and prepare them for the future with the weak Willie Harris in doubt. Aaron Miles would suit it, but not as well as Kennedy.
Soxplosion
These pickups would be meant to help us this year. And you cant go for 50 games with Erstad on the bench or in the minors. Hes too good...
Heads22
What about Alfonseca? He's helped our team win in the past.
mike12345
i think hernandez would help us out with the experience but dont know if the expos will part with him since they are also contendors..i dont think we would get rick reed cuz i dont see the twins helping us at all....what are erstads and kennedys salaries?? dasox24
I think Hernandez, Thomson, and Garcia would be great pick-ups. Having any one of those as our 5th starter would be awesome. I don't care if Garcia is struggling this year, maybe he'd turn it around because he wouldn't have the pressure of doing as well as he was supposed to because he was supposed to be a #1 starter for Seattle, and he'd only be our 5th starter, this year anyway. And, we'd could have him for next year if we lose Colon.

rafacosta
Livan Hernandez. He is having a good season and we need a 5th starter. He has some experience in postseason if we make the playoffs. Livan Hernandez numbers.
Harry Chappas
We still need to give up players for these guys unless they are free agents (teams may be willing to dump them.) Hernandez has a huge salary for next year.
