That he acted like an immature douche to a reasonable question regarding his employer.

See I don't think the question was "reasonable" from a common sense stand point. They could have asked him anything about the pitching staff. Anything. Instead not only do they ask him about a position player, but a position player who isn't even in Chicago, and not only that, but a guy who Cooper hasn't seen since March in all likelihood.

The hosts were doing the radio equivalent of trolling, and Cooper took the bait. That isn't a question for the pitching coach, at all. How do you think the Score guys who would answered Cooper if he asked them about what was going on at Q101?

That's not really a fair comparison. The guys at the Score aren't going to have a clue what's happening at another radio station. They asked him for his opinion about the struggling Sox offense and if a player that has been tearing up the minors could help. The offense that has been playing directly in front of him for the past 4 months.

He said they need to score more runs so obviously he's watched them. He just decided to play dumb and act like he doesn't have a single clue about what's happening with the team other than the guys on the pitching staff. I really find that hard to believe.

Exactly. The guy is part of the coaching staff. Is he not involved in coaching staff meetings? I have to believe topics about the offense are brought up quite often in his presence and that he may have some information that most of us are unaware of. That's part of why he's invited to discuss White Sox baseball on the radio.

Not to mention in what world is it OK for someone in essentially middle management to talk about a persons replacement in another department, in public?

I don't think he was asked to confirm whether replacements were being made. Why the hell did you even start this thread if you're annoyed that people are debating it?

I'm not annoyed with people debating it, I'm just debating it. Why would you respond if you had a problem with that?

No, but he's the guy Sox fans have been wanting to bring up for the past 2 months. I can't believe Cooper is completely oblivious to that.

He should've just taken the high road and said "I don't know, I'm not the one who makes that decision." or something like that.

He was obviously in a bad mood from the beginning based on his answer to their other question which was actually about a pitcher.

I won't argue his response sucked. I just think it was an intentionally bad question asked in hopes of securing a sound bite.

OK, sort of on the topic. Do we all agree that if the Cleveland series doesn't go well, that something will absolutely happen? Because how much more water can this ship take on? We're still not that far enough out of it to write off the season but a couple of bad series and we certainly could be.

Because if nothing does happen, we will be on here for months wondering WTF KW was thinking, not doing anything.

If nothing happens to this team on the trade deadline, I'll be wondering what happened to Kenny Williams.

It makes sense when you consider, as fathom suggested, that Cooper is the only member of the Sox management with whom they routinely speak or to whom they have access.

Your last analogy sucks, too. It'd be more like asking a WSCR host a question about a well-known problem on another WSCR show.

1.) You could say you want Viciedo, KW will just say, 'Thanks for your input.' In this day and age, he can't give you some long answer. He might fear it would get posted on internet.

2.) Great post. It all boils down to, 'Just win baby.' Then they don't get the hard questions; they get the love.

I haven't written him yet Greg but I've thought about what to say and it would be along he lines of " I have no desire for my 15 minutes of fame, so I can assure you that nothing you say would be revealed in any way. Then proceed to ask questions about certain areas we discuss on here all while being totally civil.

Also I'm quite certain Cooper gets paid to come on the show and has answered questions that didn't have to do with the pitching staff during earlier shows. There's no reason for him to hang up. If he doesn't want to answer the question fine. If he feels they were trolling, fine, handle it off the air.

Chris Rongey does nothing but toe the company line. It's actually kind of insulting that you would bring his name up as though anyone would consider him a source of any information other than EXACTLY what the organization wants you to hear. Next.

Boers and Bernsie were talking about this on their show today. Bernsie brought up that people he talks to tell him (take it for what you will) that there is rift between the pitchers and the offense. He phrased it as similar to a defense in football knowing they can't give up a touchdown because the offense is horrible. Bernsie said he was told he pitchers feel if they give up more than 2 runs in a game that they'll lose.

Peavy mentioned after his last loss that it's tough to win when you only score 2. Coop got mad in this interview when Barry Rozner mentioned Humber had 2 bad games in a row. Coop was saying he had 1 bad inning in Detroit, but if they could hit and catch the ball it wouldn't be an issue.

He is an employee of the same station that these dopes are. By that logic there is no difference between the two.

Did Bernstein get this information from the same person who told him the Sox told the Guillen family they would be drafting Ozney, when in fact, they told them they would not draft him? Bernstein is a pompous ass who is a bright guy, except when it comes to White Sox baseball.
