Balta1701
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 08:58 PM) so maybe de Aza is going to be traded? No one is knocking down the door for a 27 year old non tender candidate.

The Ginger Kid
better than a DP, but come on, this is Verlander out there. Have to try and scratch some runs out, move guys over. I don't get it.
chw42
Alexei's been crap at the plate since June. It's hot now Alexei, you can start hitting again. Edited July 27, 2011 by chw42
caulfield12
The Indians sure have been pesky at home this year. I think they have something like 10 or 11 walkoff victories alone at Jacobs/Progressive. And yet they can't beat the White Sox to save their lives. Around 50 pitches for Verlander through 3. Pretty normal pattern for him. Edited July 27, 2011 by caulfield12
macsandz
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 08:02 PM) Alexei's been crap at the plate since June. Including last night when he drove in the tying run with 2 outs.
macsandz
Anybody hear how brutal Peavy's numbers become after 70 pitches this season? Something like .485 BAA. Dealing or not, Ozzie gotta bring Humber in tonight if Jake starts struggling.

caulfield12
Teahen did everything right he possibly could on that play, Jackson just BARELY beat it out. Huge inning for Peavy here to get through still scoreless for the Tiggers.

chw42
QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 08:09 PM) That would be a crazy overpay, IMO. You're giving up a rental, a 34 year old reliever who is owed $12 more million, and a fringe AAAA player for a guy who was a 4.5 WAR player last season. I'll take it. caulfield12
Here we go. Uh-oh. Thornton's not exactly a huge bargain contract at his age and getting paid like a psuedo-closer. It's a fair deal, but he shouldn't be the most coveted LHR unless you're a team with a top 5-7 payroll.
