Real
We pretty much have the best bullpen in the AL, easily the best bullpen in the central. Frasor Crain Santos Ohman Sale Thornton Does Frasor replace Bruney?? And if he does, who do the Sox add to the pen to keep 12 pitchers? Do we bring back Santiago? Balta1701
QUOTE (Real @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 08:26 PM) We pretty much have the best bullpen in the AL, easily the best bullpen in the central. Frasor Crain Santos Ohman Sale Thornton Does Frasor replace Bruney?? And if he does, who do the Sox add to the pen to keep 12 pitchers? Do we bring back Santiago? We've had 12 pitchers almost the whole year, 6 were just starters. frasor replaces Jackson on the roster and takes the pen up to 7 people. RockRaines
Joel Sherman of the New York Post confirms that the Cardinals turned down the Rays' offer of Jeff Niemann and J.P. Howell for Rasmus (Twitter link). Sherman suggests the Cardinals would have been better off accepting Tampa Bay's offer. Wow.

Dick Allen
The Sox have Frasor/Crain in the pen. Cowley is pissed. Last night he said no way the rumor was true. He got scooped by a guy in his underwear in his mom's basement.

Quin
@cst_Cowley cst_Cowley Breaking News: The city of Toronto wanted me thrown in the deal, but Chicago said, "No way, not Mr. Handsome.'' iamshack
QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 04:33 PM) When I heard Kenny's interview on The Score today, the bit about "four average pitches" made me laugh. I know he didn't mean for it to sound the way it did, but it just sounded so bad. And what exactly is a "power change up"?

Dick Allen
The other piece to this trade is De Aza. He's probably not all that good, but he did give the Sox the win today, and, more importantly, he gets Alex Rios off the field. If Dunn gets going, the Sox are in good shape. flavum
Frasor was on CTL tonight. Sounds like a genuine fellow. Grew up a Cubs fan, but is excited to be with the Sox, back home, and can't wait to be in his first pennant race. I hope he gets his wish on that last part. Paulstar
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 07:30 PM) Wow. I'd turn that down to. Neimann is a big risk, and Howell has not been the same pitcher he once was before the surgery.

Jerksticks
Addition by subtraction; don't let the door hit ya Mr Teahen...We all of a sudden have tons of pitching...so much pitching we don't know what to do with it. Ohman and Rios gotta go too IMO. Just for chemistry.
danman31
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 05:32 PM) If he's talking about "4 pitches", that's code for keeping him a starter. Funny thing is none of the scouting reports I read even mentioned a fourth pitch, let alone it being average. I read plus fastball, inconsistent to plus slider and a decent and improving change. I'm sure it's not hard to add a curve or a four-seam fastball or something like that, but it seems odd.
