If Pence is moved by the Astros, it may benefit the White Sox in trading Quentin. The teams that missed out on Pence would be after Quentin.

I was just about to post this very same thought.

It's awesome how on edge everyone is and how any random tweet can generate excitement. The trade deadline is the f***ing best, no matter what.

I have a love/hate relationship with the trade deadline. It's driving me nuts but it's awesome at the same time.

Add in all the crazy NFL stuff too. This week has been fun.

This. I've been on edge for days, just glued to what everyone is saying. Love it. I was thinking about how this trade deadline is so much more exciting than last year (but it's also because we have so much uncertainty with the team's direction).

If Pence is moved, for the Sox's sake lets hope it is to Boston, so that Philly and Atlanta would be bidding against each other for Quentin's services. Even though Boston gets that much better, the Sox might too, because maybe Braves/Phils offer up a crown jewel to keep Q away from the other.

1.) I hope you are ready for a long rebuild. Are you going to follow the Sox if they get rid of everybody and suck like the Royals for 5-6 years? Quentin is our second best hitter.

2.) This. CQ should be part of our future plans. Too bad our GM can't make creative trades or steal players of value once in a while. Trading Quentin leaves a gaping hole in the lineup for some time to come.

I am with you on this :headbang

Personally I think the Braves have better prospects now (Pitching wise anyway) and would rather deal with them.

Are you serious? You can't be. You simply can't be. Not when we're talking about CARLOS QUENTIN.

Yeah cause KW has never "stole" anyone. Christ he stole the f***ing guy you're talking about

I love Q, but you're not building around him. Massive injury risk, expensive, and streaky. No thanks.

Or Humber. Or Floyd. Or Danks. Or Thornton.

ALL OF OUR TOP TRADE CHIPS WERE STEALS.

Edit: Forgot Santos.

Dude, De Aza had a f***ing .876 OPS in AAA, Josh Fields was a AAA stud.

1. Prospects bust. That's why they're called prospects, and not major leaguers.

2. I never said Viciedo will bust. I said he could bust.

Next

I think I understand what you are saying, but flks think Beckham is a bust. I don't. I see someone pushed to the majors too quick and now having to learn his second position in the bigs. I think Gordo will be huge in the coming years

@DKnobler

DKnobler

Braves and Phils both very interested in Quentin, and it appears Sox would consider moving him even tho just 3 games out. #tradedeadline

So we are considering moving him.

I'm assuming Dayan's thumb injury isn't too bad...?
