QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 03:07 AM)
I long for the days when the Sox were loaded with HR hitters.

Thank you! It's truly pathetic how we get no power at all from our catcher, third baseman, left fielder and center fielder.

Power reliant means you'll have your days when the well is dry, but at least it means you'll have your days when the well is full. We almost never seem to put up huge games anymore offensively.

Shut up Hawk...Morel just has no power at all.

Between him and Pierre, and Rios who has only 4 doubles his last 115 abs or so with no other extra base hits, and Dunn's inability to hit, its going to be hard to generate runs consistently.

OPS has to be a number that intrigues the Sox when they think about their offense in the future.

I thought Morel did the right thing going to opposite field. Was it just terrible or what?

He's just too weak of a hitter to get it over the outfielder's head when he hits it that way. There is nothing offensively about the guy that projects as a MLB hitter.

:notworthy

It's sad how Ozzieball and Hawk has poisoned some of our fans into thinking a home run is a bad thing.

Except for his entire minor league career.

Jeff Abbott says hi. Morel has no power and has walked 3 times this year. You constantly have been on Viciedo for not walking but this guy takes that to a whole different level and you look the other way. Why?

Talking about his approach at the plate in the majors. You do always make it sound like he was some huge power prospect, even though a lot of people were skeptical he'd ever be able to hit for power in the majors IIRC.

Line drive hitters are not bad things, however you expect line drive doubles hitters to drive it into the gaps quite a bit. Not just make outs or hit singles only.

Everything I ever read about Morel while he was in the minors said great glove, but not nearly enough power to play 3rd everyday in the majors.
