whitesoxfan101
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 09:31 PM) I just got back from having this travesty of a team inflicted upon me by the TV’s at Red Robin. Yikes. At least you got some Red Robin out of the deal.
Soxfest
QUOTE (Wanne @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 10:32 PM) He'd have 3500 if the Sox were in the AL East... Yes he would.
greg775
I watched one half inning. All I could take. Man this team is unwatchable. This losing streak might be a long one. Tomorrow is a formality and then the three in Minnie are formalities. You just knew after the two bunts in the first we were doomed to defeat again. These are easy wins for them Yankees. Milkman delivers
QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 08:31 PM) Brutal. Absolutely brutal. What does everyone think the Yankees final run total will be tonight? I'm guessing 18 Hey, good job. And I suggest everyone add the statement in my sig to all of yours. kitekrazy
It looks like history is repeating itself no matter how you change the roster. It's August and it's time to threaten to finish in 4th place again.
flavum
I'm thinking if they play their cards right, they can get the 8th or 9th pick next year.

caulfield12
Except the Twins don't want to beat the Angels, who are suddenly the hottest team in baseball, along with the Brewers. As long as they stay within 2 1/2, 4th place is still in sight by Sunday. (CORRECTION, Twins look to be only 1 1/2 back or closer...beating the Angels now 8-4). Not that they would draft the better player even if the Twins end up a couple of spots behind them in the draft order. ThunderBolt
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 11:38 PM) At least you got some Red Robin out of the deal. It was a delicious double-edged sword.

dmbjeff
I was actually at the game. It was brutal. Rios jogged towards every single ball. It was amazing watching him play like he didn't care. It was so much different in person. He should have dog s*** thrown at him from centerfield, then maybe he would move his ass. He is such a lollygagger. Can you imagine if Paulie wasn't resigned and we ended up with a Derek Lee or Adam LaRoche? We would be Chicago Cubs bad.
Rowand44
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 10:58 PM) I'm thinking 5-6 range Oh please, you know better. We will absolutely dominate the last two weeks of the season when we're already out of the race.

mcgrad70
QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Aug 3, 2011 -> 08:48 PM) If we don't dump some bad contracts in the offseason, we'll be where they are now in 1-2 years. Cubs should've dumped/rebuilt team in 09 when they struggled but were not horrible. Would've been able to move some contracts and get more for guys who were still good then. They didn't and they've paid for it the last 2 years. Sox got to find a way to make this team better. We have a team that would've been great in 2007, not so much now. Too many declining players (JP, Dunn, AJ, Rios, Peavy). KW has got to find a way to dump these guys. They've already be dumped on Williams. Next stop is to eat all of those salaries. No one on this board this board think much of those players - who would think any other GM other than Williams would be stupid enough take any of them. There was no real interest in any of those players - if they were Reinsdorf wouldn"t have been part of any bidding wars.
greg775
If they don't just release Rios and Dunn, they get what they deserve in terms of attendance next season. Time to just bite the bullet on those 2 guys. I guess you could keep Dunn in April next year and bat him eighth and see if he can hit .200. If not, release him. The alternative is NO FANS. Both players are that bad. How could any Sox fan that's not part of a corporation buy season tickets for next year? These games have been awful at home this season. How could anybody want to see this s*** next season? Edited August 4, 2011 by greg775
