"If You Want Me Back"

In a video interview with Graham Bensinger of Yahoo Sports, Ozzie Guillen says that he recently told White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf that "If you want me to stay, a lot of things [have] got to be better." Guillen also said, however, that he wants to remain in Chicago and is fully committed to his current team, despite some rumors connecting him to the Marlins job in 2012. "It'd be an honor for me to manage the Marlins," Guillen said. "Do I want to manage the Marlins? No, because I'm managing the White Sox now."

JR is loyal to a fault, but I can see this being Ozzie's undoing. Going to Reinsdorf with such arrogance appears to be a death wish.

Not to mention already stating that he would love to manage the Marlins.

What a complete dumbass, you just flat out deny that s***.

Well things won't better be Ozzie. We have too much money tied into bad players (Rios, Peavy, Dunn), which will force us to trade our good players (Quentin, Danks, etc.) for minor league prospects this off-season.

Next season, we might be awful, so perhaps Ozzie will re-sign before it gets worse.

I would love to hear the specifics. I just think at this point our organization is in dissaray. JR is loyal to two people who just don't see eye to eye. And that is just a situation that is bound to fail.

We do have to remember. Kenny isn't exactly known for being the most professional GM either. Emotions have gotten the best of him just as they have Ozzie in the past. Ozzie's occur more often but I wouldn't be shocked if there was a lot of other drama that has went on that we don't know about either.

But KW appears to have matured over the years, while Ozzie appears to keep getting worse.

Great. Only I just can't overlook the little fact that Hollywood has assembled an expensive mediocre team.

I gather from the tone of recent posts that he is tipping to the other side as well.

IIRC 2K5 hit his tipping point w/Ozzie when Ozzie told the fans not to watch games last year

Greg and Marty (with the possibility of SS2k5?) are the only people left on the site that don't believe Ozzie needs to go.

I still go back & forth on it. He has had a bad year managing, but I still like him and think he can be a good manager. And it's not like KW has handed him a full deck to work with.

My view is it can't just be Guillen who goes. Hollywood is most responsible for this mess.

Both need to go, as it's just too much of a failure this season. From "All In" with a 127 million dollar payroll to 21k attendance for a game against the Yankees in early August should cost a lot of people their job.

You mean John Hart never flipped over a buffet table in a clubhouse?

That's just Kenny being Kenny.

I would welcome some show of emotion this year or, at the very least, something resembling a plan (other than blind faith) to get out of this mess.

KW is on the verge of being the Al Davis of the American League if things get much worse. Well, maybe not THAT bad, but the Raiders had their Super Bowl appearance too in the midst of all the chaos and underachievement and busting draft picks.

Just win (or lose in this case) baby!
