fathom
Much better at bats in the 9th inning, but couldn't get the big hit tonight. Really wouldn't mind seeing Kuhn up here giving us another lefty bat that can face these tough righties.
winninguglyin83
at least Gordo didn't whiff.
southsideirish71
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 09:57 PM) Much better at bats in the 9th inning, but couldn't get the big hit tonight. Really wouldn't mind seeing Kuhn up here giving us another lefty bat that can face these tough righties. Typical sox. They free swing all game long, then with 3 outs left we suddenly find focus. caulfield12
Seems a bit too soon to think about promoting Kuhn. Before the rosters expand? Or as a replacement for Beckham?

iamshack
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 09:00 PM) What they need to do is find a way to get Omar off the roster. Couldn't agree with that more, but you know we're stuck with him for the remainder of this year. And the more Gordo struggles, the more Omar will play. southsideirish71
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 10:00 PM) What they need to do is find a way to get Omar off the roster. Outside of Pierre, Omar might be the most respected player in Ozzie's eyes. And he controls the roster for whatever reason. So he ain't going anywhere. caulfield12
With DeAza around now, wish they would play Lillibridge more instead of Vizquel for Beckham... Wishful thinking, one would suppose.
greg775
So awful bats tonight? One run? Our team is so bizarre. Just when it looked like the bats were OK and we were playing better at home. Back to .500.
greg775
QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 03:41 AM) Go piss in someone else's Cheerios. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 03:45 AM) Oh well...just bounce back tomorrow, fellas. Continue winning series'. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 03:50 AM) The thought of a Juan Pierre extension makes my stomach turn. 1.) That made me laugh for some reason. Good line. 2.) That would be funny if we won the division by a game. It seems like that's been the sense of urgency around the team all year. That eventually we'll get it right. I'd rather get hot and win 10 in a row. 3.) Juan's had a good season, but it's Dayan time.

greg775
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 04:38 AM) Juan has put up a .2 WAR this season. He isn't as putrid as he was previously, but it's a far cry from good. On a team full of lousy hitters, I stand by my statement that he's had a "good" season, especially for us. ChiliIrishHammock24
I think the Sox have scored 2 runs combined in the two games I have been to this year, losing both. The last game I was at was a Bruce Chen masterpiece on July 6th or 7th.
DetroitSoxDog
Woudn't it be SMART to send Dunn to the minors to focus on hitting? That way we can put another hitter in the line-up above a .200 batting average and Dunn can hopefully improve! A second choice would be to test Dunn's VISION!!
