Mitchell managed another 3 K game.

Down to .229 now, wonder if Dunn/Rios/Beckham are rubbing off on the entire system?

Well, at least Brandon Allen hasn't been affected, hit another triple for the A's and has been on fire since the trade.

I still have no idea why the Dbacks refused to give him a shot. Then again, they traded one of the top dozen or so pitchers in baseball for Joe Saunders. Oh, nice to see DLS consistently hittin' 97-98 MPH on the black.

This is more of a general thing, but you can't b**** and moan about the system and then b**** and moan about two players they developed that are succeeding elsewhere in the bigs.

The system isn't good now, but the Sox have developed some players.

Wrong. This isn't necessarily b****ing about obsessing over players we traded away that are now flourishing elsewhere. Every team trades guys away that go on to produce elsewhere. With the Sox, they do this and can't alleviate or neutralize said bad trades with other homegrown products of their own. Like the Atlanta Braves.

My point is that if there are players worth being pissy over, the system did its job. It clearly hasn't been as awful as some make it out to be if there are guys like this.

DLS actually recorded his first "hold" of the season yesterday...

ERA just above 2.00.

But F. Francisco was still the best reliever we traded (we barely had him for long, he came for Howry from BOS)...as part of the Everett deal. Guerrier was traded for Marte as a starter to the Pirates and eventually blossomed elsewhere.
