Soxbadger
Important to remember, minor league players are also more receptive of criticism and change because they want to get to the majors. Its highly unlikely that Walker doesnt have input on what Laker is doing.
Greg Hibbard
It's a bad idea to have him start at DH, unless you guys want to carry three catchers all season. If he starts at DH and AJ gets injured in a game....well you know Edited August 23, 2011 by Greg Hibbard
cabiness42
It's a bad idea to have him start at DH, unless you guys want to carry three catchers all season. If he starts at DH and AJ gets injured in a game....well you know If your backup catcher starts at DH and the catcher gets injured, then you lose your DH for the rest of the game and the pitcher has to hit. This is not the earth-shaking catastrophe that it is often made out to be because: 1) If you are in the latter stages of a game, you can pinch hit for your pitchere 2) Even if this move costs you a game, it is only costing you one game. On the other hand, you are sacrificing potentially dozens of opportunities to improve your lineup in fear of the potential to have it hurt you one time. NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Aug 23, 2011 -> 03:38 PM) It's a bad idea to have him start at DH, unless you guys want to carry three catchers all season. If he starts at DH and AJ gets injured in a game....well you know Yeah, the worst case is maybe, maybe, one game in a year, the Sox might lose the DH for part of a game. A few at-bats tops, and pinch hitters can still be used. That is such a minor concern, it shouldn't really get in the way.
caulfield12
And God knows, but we've had 4-5 positions in the line-up all season long hitting like pitchers, anytime you can get an 800+ OPS into the line-up is a huge bonus offensively and you absolutely have to go for it.
