Soxfest
Perfect example of Sox baseball 101 in 2011.
greg775
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 24, 2011 -> 03:09 AM) Dunn still has power, he's just in-between on everything. Can't catch up to high heat, can't hit low breaking balls, obviously can't hit a change. About the only thing he can hit right now is a knee high fastball. Maybe he should look into using a shorter bat, because his bat speed could be better too. You really think he still has power?
fathom
Flowers missing those offspeed pitches by a foot. He's on pace for another golden sombrero tonight. I like what he's shown so far this year, but he's going to have to make adjustments during a game.

Thad Bosley
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 23, 2011 -> 10:11 PM) and that, in a nutshell, is our offensive season. Just thinkin' the same thing. That inning was a microcosm of what 2011 has been all about.
fathom
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 24, 2011 -> 03:12 AM) There any chance Dunn was on steroids? I wish I could say I've heard rumors about him or Rios to explain their lack of power now, but I haven't heard anything like that.
kitekrazy
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 23, 2011 -> 09:04 PM) But you hope maybe Rios finds something that works for him he can take into next year. At the end of last year, he had terrible mechanics at the plate and it led to this season's debacle. As for Dunn, you have to hope he just goes 0 for rest of season and decides to retire. It's shocking to me how little power he has left. Plus knowing the possibility of being replaced by another player can help.

winninguglyin83
rios is no Ben Revere. And Kendrick has the tough part of the cycle out of the way. I like his chances.

almagest
That ball was crushed. Maybe Rios should have caught it (I think it would have been a heck of a catch if he did), but Buerhle is getting hammered.

ChiliIrishHammock24
That was a great throw by Rios. Hawk is right throw, Tyler should have let the ball come to him, but I think he was protecting himself from being railroaded by giving Kendrick the back of the plate. fathom
QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Aug 24, 2011 -> 03:19 AM) Rios comes in too fast and catches the ball flat-footed. terrible fundamentals. Our outfielders have been doing that for at least 6 years now. Dye was the worst at this. I would almost guarantee the Sox outfielders over that stretch has the fewest assists on plays at the plate.
