danman31
QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 29, 2011 -> 09:47 PM) Escobar may be call up worthy. I'm pretty sure he'd hit like first half Juan Pierre. Defense can only go so far.
ChiSox_Sonix
QUOTE (danman31 @ Aug 29, 2011 -> 11:09 PM) I'm pretty sure he'd hit like first half Juan Pierre. Defense can only go so far. Probably wouldn't hurt to have another PR/defensive replacement though if we're still in it

NorthSideSox72
Serafin in Charlotte? Interesting, he didn't have all that great a year in High A even. I know, end of year fill-in promotions, but still, surprised he was the one they picked.

danman31
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 08:41 AM) Serafin in Charlotte? Interesting, he didn't have all that great a year in High A even. I know, end of year fill-in promotions, but still, surprised he was the one they picked. The Dash are in the playoff race and he's probably someone they can afford to lose. Plus I have a feeling some of these moves are rewards are hard working guys. Get a taste of the higher level and I think it gives them a bit more cash too.
flavum
QUOTE (danman31 @ Aug 29, 2011 -> 10:09 PM) I'm pretty sure he'd hit like first half Juan Pierre. Defense can only go so far. He wouldn't come up for his offense, although he hasn't been awful this year either. Pinch run, defense, he's already on the 40-man....bring him up next week. JPN366
Charlotte's short handed on starting pitchers. Bisenius and Zaleski are on the DL, Cassel and Serafin are in their places. I think Serafin is still eligible for the Dash postseason roster. I don't think the Carolina League is as strict about postseason roster eligibility as the Southern League. Kent Gerst finished out the regular season with Charlotte in 2009, then was moved back to Winston-Salem and played in the playoffs with them.
