Wow we lost? LOL I turned off gameday considering Santos had it in the bag. That is hilarious. Ozzie, as usual, will wait till the sox are mathematically eliminated to play the kids consistently though.

To be fair, De Aza and Viciedo were in the lineup and Flowers actually could use a day off.

i know exactly what i'm wishing for. i'm wishing we had traded our pieces at the trade deadline for prospects, let de aza, lilli, viciedo, flowers, beckham and whomever else we acquired play and see what we have. it's a lot better than this dunn/rios/pierre bulls*** that ran us into the ground this year.

Shockingly both Quentin and Thornton can still be traded during the offseason. They obviously weren't offered too much for them or they would have been gone, and the guys they probably would have received for them you wouldn't see play this year, unless you followed the minor leagues. Dunn isn't playing anymore. If Quentin were healthy, Rios wouldn't be playing anymore. I couldn't agree more they played way too long. Its one reason why I'm going to be an ex seasonticketholder unless both KW and Ozzie are gone. But a total rebuild means you have to draft well. Real well. The Sox were horrible in 1986, horrible in 1987, horrible in 1988 and horrible in 1989 when they last did a total rebuild. They got extremely lucky and got McDowell, Ventura, Thomas and Fernandez in the draft. They wanted Mike Harkey, but the Cubs took him so they settled for McDowell, inexplicably, the Cubs who had been looking for a 3rd baseman for many years took someone who never made it to the major leagues instead of Ventura, the Sox wanted Jeff Jackson but Philadelphia drafted him, so they missed out on a guy who never made the major leagues and had to settle for a HOFer, and Fernandez was only available because Milwaukee went cheap on him the year before. If a couple of those go the other way, it may be 6 or 7 or 8 or even more years of being pitiful.

When you are that pitiful if you think Hawk talking up guys now is bad, just wait. When you rebuild, everyone is the second coming. Back then I was driving home from college and had the game on. John Rooney went on and on for an inning and a half why Gary Redus was a better ballplayer than Rickey Henderson. I'm being totally serious.

I haven't been this mad at the results of a baseball game in a long long time. I left the house at the rain delay... and they lost? This is just one of those seasons boys and girls. I still have faith and I'm still a White Sox fan, but this one is painful.

I truly believe that next year will be a lot better for the Sox - especially with a new coaching staff.

I like your attitude Chet. Just stare at the booty in your avatar for a minute or so and you'll feel better.

I will no longer watch games in which Mark Buehrle doesn't pitch. This could be Mark's last month. So I will cherish his starts. Besides that, I will only track Viciedo, De Aza and Flowers.

If it is, I'm all out for 2012. They would have to impress me to take interest. I'd hate for him to go but he does not fit in since most of the staff is full of mental midgets.

get rid of kenny, get rid of ozzie, get rid of everyone and lets start over. I'd LOVE to straight up rebuild for a year or two.

It would be almost impossible for this team to rebuild in two years. I don't trust the scouting in this organization.

Except for the first week it's been the most utterly depressing and disgusting season in a long time.

As nice as it would have been to steal the division we don't deserve postseason ball this year.

As Walker said in that story, "it's been a long year for everybody."

Team doesn't deserve the postseason.

Glad it's over.

Hope the Bears have a good year and the Hawks too.

I'll still follow every game but this group of stiffs didn't deserve the postseason.

I just hope it's not LaRussa for next year. Anybody but LaRussa, Bell and Cora.

And please fire KW as well as Oz. If one goes both should go.

I was thinking that this season. Last year they wound up winning a lot of games, but they were pretty pitiful most of the season. That 25-5 stretch was great, but their 88 wins at the end felt like a lot less. This year's .500 record feels like 2007. Maybe my expectations are just too high. The organization has been spinning its wheels too long.

Let's remember what it took for Detroit to "Rebuild".

A couple of the worst MLB seasons in history. Got them a great starting pitcher out of it.

Signing some of the worst contracts in MLB in order to build "Credibility".

A W.S. appearance followed by an epic collapse

A couple more years of struggling/epic collapses

Finally being the best of a bad division this year.

The highest salary in the division for what, 4 straight years, and presumably 1 Central division title?

This really can't have been a pleasant expereince for anyone who is a legit tiger fan.

I figuratively screamed all offseason that those 88 wins were fools gold. "Hey, with the way we started last year and the struggles of so many key guys, and the fact Mark Kotsay was our primary DH, we still won 88 games." That became like a mantra around here. You know KW probably echoed those same thoughts. And that is where "ALL-IN" began. What a f***in' Tsunami this franchise is.

Or you could look at the Atlanta Braves. 14 straight years of division dominance (yes, the first few years of that were due to some really bad teams in the late 80's. After that, it was all the front office, scouting, player development and shrewd trades). A few down years from '07 to '09. And now they're right back at being a perennial contender due to the same scouting and player development.

as long as the Sox are stuck with Rios and Dunn, it's going to be very difficult to fix this team.

first order of business should be to fix the farm system.

the foundation for the last decade started with homegrown guys like Buehrle, Crede, Rowand, Lee, Maggs. Supplemented that by getting Garland and Paulie when they were young, top prospects from other teams.

we don't have many young guns like that any more.

Buddy Bell needs to be on the Purge List with Kenny and Ozzie.

But the Chairman won't get rid of all of them. So it's going to be ugly for a while.

I expect that they'll trade Danks and quentin to save money and try to get prospects for them. As long as Kenny is the guy evaluating the prospects, look out.

An expensive .500 team is the worst position to be in. Far worse than rebuilding.

AN expensive .500 team is at least going to look like they're competitive for part of the year.

A rebuilding, .375 winning %age team is not a pleasant experience.

I kinda/sorta understand everybody being pissed about tonight...but honestly is was basically putting a lame horse out of it's misery. There was no EFFIN' way in hell this team was gonna do anything that it hasn't done all year...it's just not clicking consistantantly. Am I pissed about the outcome...to tell you the truth I gave up being pissed over losses like these a long time ago.
