The Sir
Censorship is bulls***. That being said, nothing in here suggests that Palin or her followers had anything to do with the censorship. It seems the newspapers did that on their own. So this isn't her or her followers fault. At least, not as far as I can tell from these sources. How are you judging that this is the motivation for the people at these papers making this decision?

StrangeSox
It's a plausible explanation for refusing to publish a popular comic strip that's making fun of Palin. Can you think of another explanation?
Balta1701
To avoid losing subscriptions, to avoid controversy, to cause controversy and get its name put forwards, because business/editorial staffs don't think very much, to win a free ipad, etc.

Yes, Sarah Palin's followers are going to blow up the Chicago Tribune because they ran something mean about her. Nice fearmongring Cheney.
StrangeSox
Eh go back to the OP, not the intentionally over-the-top language to compare it to the Danish cartoon of Mohammed controversy. The most plausible explanation here is that it's still far too dangerous in a business sense to make fun of a failed VP candidate who quit as a 1/2-term governor of Alaska.
