oldsox
This does not factor in the ridiculous salary given to Dunn, plus we gave up a #1 draft pick. Way to go, Kenny. Youdaman.
SI1020
They are ranked according to plate appearances. No way Dunn is number 20 on the list of worst players.

No way Dunn is number 20 on the list of worst players. Absolutely, without question, number one
Donny Lucy's Avocado Farm
Its amazing to me, thinking of all of the players in recent memory that were just awful for the Sox. Andy Gonzalez, Luis Terrero, Gustavo Molina, Wilson Betemit..... etc. And Adam Dunn is STILL worse than them. And makes $14m a year. What a joke. As oldsox pointed out, I completely forgot the Sox gave up their first round pick for Dunn. That makes it "that much" worse. UGH.

Vance Law
QUOTE (JoshPR @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 06:21 PM) Without looking.. Dave kingman, Rob deer, mark Reynolds, Steve balboni None of those appear. Those guys hit for terrible averages, but actually hit the ball out of the park and so were somewhat useful. The problem with this list is that it's only batting and does not incorporate fielding (and therefore includes several base stealers who almost certainly added a lot of value in outfield defense). Dunn, as a DH with no defensive value would have to be right near the top as most useless player.
Milkman delivers
Mark Reynolds, without looking up any advanced stats, had to have been far from one of the worst players ever.
winninguglyin83
He's only 20th because he's walked 66 times. He's only walked 66 times because he goes up there looking to walk. If he had any pride, Adam Dunn would give back some of the money he stole this year.
LittleHurt05
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 06:34 PM) Mark Reynolds, without looking up any advanced stats, had to have been far from one of the worst players ever. A .200-.220 average can be acceptable when you hit 32-42 homers. Not when you hit 12 with a .165 avg
