Ok I'm bored and coming from the other thread about mark about all time pitchers. Ok now there's a catch, players you've seen(in person, tv, whatever) example I was born in 1975 so I'll be talking about players anywhere from 80-81 on, give it a 5-6 year period, so if you were born in 85 don't talk about dick Allen.. Ohh and only one choice you can maybe do a split for one player, can't go agh DH Thomas/Franco and third crede/Ventura, can only do this once... Make a 25 man roster

My is.....

1970 Luis Aparicio

1967 Joel Horlen

1968 Tommy John

1966 Gary Peters

Any Hoyt Wilhelm from 1963 to 1968 ERA usually under 2.00 and whip 5 out of 6 years under 1.0 in relief.

1971 Wilbur Wood 10.0 WAR .yes you read that right.

Frank deserves any 1st base spot but hard not to find a place for ...

1972 Dick Allen and his 1.023 OPS and 199 OPS+, 9.3 WAR.

1965 Eddie Fisher 4th in MVP votes and WHIP under 1.0.

Javy had a pretty awesome year in 2007. 3.74 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in an extreme hitters park. 4.29 K/BB ratio also. We forget how good he was in 2007 because of how bad he was in 2006 and 2008.

That's because we weren't in contention, and he thrives when nothing is expected of him. It just seemed odd that you put him on there when you didn't choose one starter from 2005. They pretty much all had better years.

Mark Buehrle's 2001 and 2005 are pretty much a toss-up, so I wouldn't argue with someone who would swap out those years.

Javy's 2007 beat Garland & Contreras' 2005 on WHIP and K/BB, and Garland & Contreras won on ERA. It was a very close call.

I assume this team is meant to compete, though. He's the last guy you want in that scenario.

Sorry, I just hate Javier Vazquez with a passion.

Yes, Cora was decent for us and from what I've seen at second for the sox well...

Ray durham was one of favorites growing up but I didn't really pay attention to stats or defense back then. Looking at his stats now, he looks like the far superior player to me.

Is there a reason you'd take cora over him?

Actually iguchi would probably be better too. I'm not trying to criticize. I just don't get what cora brings.

I'm considering every player at their best while they were with the Sox. It's a bad defensive team and way too RH bit they'd score some runs.
