LOL yeah those are QUALITY bands........  :P

I was going to reply to that claim, but Bmr said everything for me.

Killswitch Engage? LOL!

And anyway, it's pointless to argue about who's better. You obviously think Metallica is done, but like you and all of those people, you are just wrong. I had heard the hype about them live, and had seen them do some great concert work on DVD. Last night, they made a believer out of me and 70,000 others.

Like everyone else here, I've heard nothing of theirs. Nor will I ever, because a) they're probably not very good and B) they'll probably all OD in the next 5 years, if they don't get sent to prison before then. I love how some local band is formed and all of a sudden they're great because they jam the local bingo hall full of 250 of their friends and/or drug dealers (who paid $5, if that), everyone gets stoned, and leaves saying "That was great man!"

, still laughing man. That was a good one.

Thanks Jr., I have seen the light.  I shall cease trying to debate with people since I apparently cannot do it.

:D

i'm not sure you ever even tried, at least anything more than "you are stupid therefore i am right"

So, you've never heard it yet you think they are not good. That's some quality judgment.

I also love how an incredibly greedy band who no longer has the sound and talent and abilities that they had before comes together to s*** out just one more album to get a few more dollars out of their merchandising and name...don't need any talent or good songs on St. Anger [which I heard numerous times...the entire album] just throw "Metallica" on it and people will buy it. Then they can charge $75 to people to come see them plow through their songs one more time until they go off to their limos and get driven to the court to sue more kids for downloading their songs.

 Still laughing at stupid people who pay nearly $100 to see Metallica after they started to suck. Now if you went when they were still good and not suing kids, etc. then it would be okay. But now they are a shell of their former selves as is evident with that steaming pile of monkey cum that is St. Anger.

Wow that was an ignorant statement.

Maybe you should heed your own advise and listen to them before casting judgement.

They co-headlined Ozzfest Second Stage this year that more than 250 people. They don't use drugs, and don't commit crimes.

How many times James been in Rehab again?

Let's blame the artist trying to protect their creation and ignore the people stealing it. Yet another great idea, Apu.

And if St. Anger is so bad, why did you listen to it "numerous times"?

Once that I know of. But thankfully, he was smart enough to realize that he had a serious problem, and he took the time to handle it. He's got a family, and he decided that they were more important than making music, and he took the steps to handle his personal issues. That's something that should be commended IMO. If everyone with a problem with alcohol and/or drugs were that responsible, this would would be much better off.

Have you heard any of them?

Yeah, i know how to turn on headbangers ball. Machine head is somewhat well know. None of those bands can even come close to Metallica. Granted, Metallica isnt really playing "metal" these days, but you dont judge musical brillance based on what "type" of music they play. I like all variations of rock. I tend to not like Metallica nearly as much these days....my main point was some nobody calling them irrelevant.

Yeah That's why I said "right now" Metallica is hardly playing the Metal they played 15 years ago. the bands I listed are a better act because they have a more Metal style than the Metallica now a days.

Also most of the bands I listed weren't around 15-20 years ago anyway :P

You are saying they are better because they play metal. Again, that isnt the right was to judge talent or ability.

Limp bizkit is "louder" than Radio head. The talent isnt comparable. Radiohead is an awesome band and limp bizkit sucks..................

They didn't call them "Alcohollica" for nothing

I listened to it 6 times which I would consider numerous. I wanted to give it a chance...I really did. So I listened to it a few times and at end analysis...it sucked beyond hard. That's why I listened to it a few times.

Sue the provider service of mp3s, not individual kids. And don't blame the lack of success on mp3 downloads when the album sucks and they overcharge for it.

I'm sure you know this, but realize that at a concert, bands don't just play their new songs. Like on their current tour, Metallica is playing just 2 songs from their new album. For the most part, it's all stuff from the 80's, and they're playing it as well as they ever have. So if you're including everything in their "act", there's nobody that can touch Metallica IMO.

Sorry the last part of that is worded stragely, I don't get what you're trying to say.

I'm just saying that I think the bands I listed are better at putting out a Metal album, than Metallica is now.

Metal is the preffered genre of music for me. The albums that those bands have put out, are more "Metal" than St. Anger. I understand that Metallica has changed their style, it just isn't my bag.

Lack of success?

The newest album went multi-platinum and their tour is doing very well -- where's the lack of success?

And I bought it for $10.99, which came with a DVD of the songs being performed with Rob (new bass player). Very reasonable price.

Nope.  As long as the opinion is genuine and fair, that's all I really care about.  I could care less if you like Metallica -- but to say they are irrelevant is simply not accurate.  Tell the 70,000 screaming fans that were in LA last night that they are irrelevant.  And your "I don't think they're getting people to form bands" argument is weak.  How many 40 year olds have that strong an influence over the youth of America?  Not many.  And I'm glad Metallica doesn't conform to what their "fans" want -- makes them better people to do it their way, and I respect them more for it.  Anyone can be a follower and do what's safe, but it takes someone special to take a chance and try something different.

You're never going to please everybody, but like I said, based on the crowd last night (and everywhere else this tour has been), I'd say Metallica is doing quite well for themselves.  A lot better than any of our careers are going, that's for certain.

If the crowd size is what makes an event, how come you aren't a Cubs fan? Yeah, it is the product on the field that matters, not the amount of lemmings who take it in.
