Jordan4life_2007
At this moment? Forget about the past and all that. I'm talkin' right now. For me, that man is Troy Tulowitzki. He plays the most precious position on the diamond (aside from catcher) and provides 1B offensive production and Bible Award caliber defense at said position. He's a good base-runner and even throws in a vulture steal every now and then. He's the best player in the game of baseball.
Jordan4life_2007
Hurry up, Kalapse. You're taking forever. I know you're going to say Pujols. Again, this is going forward. I don't care about Pujols' MVPs. As of right now - Tulo > Pujols.
kjshoe04
Pujols or Verlander.
Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 10:54 PM) Pujols or Verlander. You would actually take a pitcher over Tulo?
kjshoe04
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 10:59 PM) You would actually take a pitcher over Tulo? With the way he's pitched this season in the amount of innings he has, yes. He's faced more hitters than Tulo has plate appearances.
kjshoe04
Although pitching WAR isn't always the greatest stat, Verlander has contributed 2.5 more wins than Tulo this season.
iamshack
I'm a pretty big Ryan Braun fan.
knightni
I admit it, my first thought when I saw this thread was Tulo.
MHizzle85
I know you love Tulo J4L. I'm still going Pujols.
SoxAce
Albert Pujols. I'll give an honorable mention to Miguel Cabrera who is putting up ridiculous numbers in one of the worst hitting parks in baseball. (he would have been my pick if his defense was at least average) Same with Mr. unreal Jose Bautista. (who is probably the best hitter in the game right now) Edited September 20, 2011 by SoxAce
Harry Chappas
The thing about a pitcher. If said pitcher can be 20 games over .500 in the games that pitcher starts, the team is 35-15, the rest of the pitching need only be built to play .500 ball and your team wins 91 games. sircaffey
Right now, Jose Bautista. Video game numbers the past 2 years.

Balta1701
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 04:08 PM) Ellsbury's been pretty unbelievable this year Doing it for 1 year doesn't make you the best in baseball. Tulo might qualify since he's done this 3 years in a row.
Stocking
Ill take Miguel Cabrera
caulfield12
No Prince Fielder love? Jose Reyes was pretty darned devastating...with the caveat that he almost always gets hurt. And it would be nice if a White Sox hitter was legitimately in this conversation...you would have hoped it would be Beckham 3 years ago, but Konerko's the only one. Ryan Howard loses points for being a 1B, like Fielder and Pujols.

witesoxfan
Jose Bautista. I want to see Fielder or Pujols end up in Toronto so badly.
Balta1701
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 05:02 AM) Jose Bautista. I want to see Fielder or Pujols end up in Toronto so badly. So do I. That's the kind of contract that if it busts will screw that franchise up for a decade. ARod as a Texas Rangers creditor 10 years later style screwup. Milkman delivers
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 12:12 PM) I would have agreed with you but I kind of want to see them fail just because of J4L. I want them to succeed so that people will see that it's possible to compete in any division. It would illustrate how pathetic we've been in our own division and hopefully get people to get on board for a new direction for this team.
