Milkman delivers
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 09:49 AM) We don't need to get in to a discussion of retaliation and beanball wars. Wild pitches by youthful rookies is the issue. I don't think you are going to hear a lot of chipping of teeth by the Sox or any team on a matter like this. If the coaching staff collectively feel it needs to be done they will plunk the opposing team as needed and won't be signaling their intentions to the media. If Ozzie Guillen told you that the world was round, I think you'd believe it.

Milkman delivers
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 10:39 AM) Don't worry, I'm sure Ozzie will order retaliation against the real enemy next week...Mark Teahen Oh man, wouldn't that prove so much if he did attempt to hit him? Now I hope he does, just so it makes Ozzie look worse.
Balta1701
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 12:03 PM) It isn't? It is somewhat oblate due to rotation.

Quin
It's sad when a baseball team needs an enforcer. I could see Peavy being an enforcer, but he'd injure himself. Crain is too valuable. Sergio is just nice.

I could see Peavy being an enforcer, but he'd injure himself. Crain is too valuable. Sergio is just nice. WTF, an enforcer? Why can't the next guy out just hit someone, take the warning, and call it a day?
Quin
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 02:39 PM) WTF, an enforcer? Why can't the next guy out just hit someone, take the warning, and call it a day? Because none of our guys do that. We need a guy we know will take the ball and stand up for his teammates, regardless of anything else.
Balta1701
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 04:00 PM) Because none of our guys do that. We need a guy we know will take the ball and stand up for his teammates, regardless of anything else. Why is that the case though? If our hitters are sick of being beaned, then why won't the pitchers stand up for them? Do the pitchers dislike the position players that much or are they under orders to never retaliate? Neither one of those is acceptable.

jenksycat
Sergio pegged someone earlier this year as retaliation, Thornton as well if I remember.

He & pen saw what counts and pitches were being thrown, convinced HBP were accidents 2 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply

whitesoxfan101
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 09:43 PM) Ozzie is all talk, has been for years. If you're ever going to retaliate tonight would have been the perfect time, you literally have nothing to lose. It's very frustrating. I've been saying that for a long time now, and I believe you have been too. Ozzie is all bark and no bite.

Harry Chappas
QUOTE (Wanne @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 08:08 PM) Yup... I didn't see the guys get drilled until tonight....but damn! that was bs. I agree. I also did not see Tuesday but the replay showed that those were not Carlos Quentin type HBP's. Hawk was vocal about it and I gotta say it really says something about this team and probably organization as a whole. Whether it was control or intentional you still need to make a point as these games mean nothing and then when they are winning 8-2 it makes it even easier.
