Crawford by a long shot.

I had to go with tie. Dunn's OPS dropped .330 points, while Crawford's dropped .157 points.

The difference in cost makes it a tie, in my book.

Adam Dunn slugged UNDER .300! Think about that!

Yeah, if you are talking about just 2011 it has to be Dunn. Worst season in the history of baseball trumps all, regardless of deal.

If you are talking about worst contract in terms of his signing, it has to be Crawford.

According to Fangraphs Player Value, Crawford was $1.6 million this year, while Adam Dunn was -$13.1 million (you read that right). That means Adam Dunn underperformed his contract in the Fangraphs world by $27 million, Crawford by $19 million.

Wow. I read it right, yet I still can't believe it.

Defense taken into consideration I assume?

Although CC's defense might have cost them a playoff spot last night.

Yes, defense is counted, although Crawford was a slightly below average LF in terms of UZR this year. Dunn was a -5 run player at 1b. Crawford was also a more effective baserunner.

Big difference also is that Dunn played 1b and DH while Crawford played LF. You're supposed to get better production from 1b and DH than you do from LF.

I'd prefer not to.

Crawford's contract is worse but for whatever reason I feel like he's a better candidate for a bounce back season, though that's just a gut feeling.

I feel the opposite. I think Crawford is just going to get eaten up in Boston. I just have the gut feeling that Dunn goes back to close to normal next year with a new manager and some time away from the game.

And and offseason conditioning program....

Rios vs. Crawford might be a more fair comparison.

Alex Rios was worth -$2.9 million in the fangraphs world and is paid $12 million. He underperformed his contract in the fangraphs world by $14.9 million, and thus is the bargain of the trio.

Yeah, but Rios is a lazy POS who doesn't throw his bat enough for my liking. Plus he's an awful interview.

Dunn is an awful interview too. Every 4th word he tries to utter is interrupted by the phrase "you know".

He puts so much more effort into be interviews though. As he stumbles from phrase to phrase I find myself saying, " At least he's trying."
