They could finish last. Our last regular series is in Cleve just like 2005.

kitekrazy
http://www.motownsports.com/forums/detroit...an-2-out-2.html Sounds so familiar doesn't it? I think the biggest difference for the Sox this year is their hitting with RISP.

Swingandalongonetoleft
Nice job by CJ Wilson, leaving with a 6-1 lead at the top of 8. I'll be sure to send any friend or relative looking for a new car to his dealership that I keep hearing about on the Score.

Swingandalongonetoleft
It's huge to pick up a game on the Tigers on a day that Verlander started and the Sox faced Bruce Chen.

cabiness42
On May 28, Cleveland was in first place. On September 11, they are tied for last, 17½ games out. I wonder if that's some kind of record for going from first to last.

LittleHurt05
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 11, 2012 -> 02:52 PM) last years Pirates had a pretty epic collapse IIRC. Tied for 1st on July 25th with a 53-47 record. The next day they lost that 19-inning game, I believe there was a bad call at the end. Ended the year 72-90, 24 games out of first. witesoxfan
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 11, 2012 -> 03:10 PM) 19-43 to finish. Ouch. 1999 Cubs still have that beat cherry picking stats. From June 9th through September 12th, the Cubs went 24-64. That's a .273 winning percentage for more than half the season. Had they accomplished that over a full season, they would have gone 44-118. Thankfully that team had steroids because it's very possible that they would have gone 44-118 that year without them.
