Nice to see a slate of games today. Small slate but some good matchups. Strasburg against the Cubs. Strasburg has been a lot of hype and potential, but dang would like to see him shut down the Cubs today.

And Buehrle against the Reds. Santana returning for the Mets. Thome not starting for the Phillies today but maybe he gets an AB.

Sergio Santos with blown save #1. Gives up Asdrubal Cabrera homer in the bottom of the 9th in CLE as it's now tied in extras.

Marmol ripped to shreds and Cubs blow second heart-breaking game in a row. 4-2 lead at the start of the inning now 4-7 against them, Wood, Marmol and now Shawn Camp.

Seems like Oakland fans have taken to calling Cespedes "The Cuban Missile".... How do we all feel about that?

About the same as the Reds calling Aroldis Chapman the Cuban Missile.

And Tampa dismisses the Yankees with relative ease. I think they're (Tampa) the most complete team in the AL. Jennings for a full year and a healthy Longoria makes their offense a lot better than last year. They've got some cheap pop, something they lacked in '11, in Pena and Scott. Not a perfect offense by any means. But more than adequate with their speed, defense and elite starting pitching (Matt Moore is their 4th starter!). What an amazing organization from top to bottom.

What more can he do? He simply doesn't have the horses right now.

I don't know the exact numbers, but I think the Red Sox only have around 5 quality starts in their last 25-30 games. Not much any manager can do with that.

Darvish looking very much like a rookie pitcher in his first inning. 3 walks, Mariners bat around, given up 4 so far, only 1 out, 40 pitches so far.

He's got a solid fastball and a good running fastball but he doesn't seem like he knows how to attack these hitters just yet. That wouldn't be surprising for a rookie pitcher and you wouldn't be annoyed if you hadn't just spend $120 million on him.
