Except for some All-Star games and now the Phillies, Giants and Cardinals (two times in half a decade) winning the World Series.

Realistically, the Phillies were the only dominant multi-dimensional team of those 3....the Giants were more pitching oriented and the Cardinals really just got hot at the right time and rode it all the way through the playoffs, just like in 2006.

But the Rangers were clearly the better team overall last year, when you combine the regular season, post-season and the flukey nature of how they lost.

The AL is 12-2-1 in the last 15 of them...

It's official: Dodgers fans are the worst

LOS ANGELES -- A driver was beaten in the Dodger Stadium parking lot after a weekend game and four people were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, police said Monday.

The driver, a man in his 20s, was in stable condition with scrapes and cuts to his face and his injuries are not life-threatening, Sgt. David Armas said. His name was not released.

The man was involved in a minor collision with another driver as he was leaving the stadium parking lot, and three men from another car also got involved, Armas said.

"They basically held the victim down while the original suspect kicked and hit him about the head and face area while he was on the ground," Armas said.

The violence comes after a Giants fan was severely injured in a beating during last year's opening game. Bryan Stow was left brain damaged during a confrontation in the parking lot, and stadium officials had promised to increase security after the attack.

Armas said Dodgers security staff and uniformed off-duty Los Angeles police were at the stadium Sunday and responded quickly.

The four men involved in the latest attack, all in their 20s, were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon because the victim was kicked, Armas said. One of them suffered bumps and scrapes to his face, "probably as a result of the victim defending himself," Armas said.

A woman in the victim's car who was eight months pregnant was not hurt but she was examined at a hospital as a precaution, he said.

Armas said the suspects did not appear to have any street gang affiliations.

"It was just a minor fender bender that just got totally out of hand," he said.

@JoeStrauss: Early diagnosis is that Berkman did suffer torn ACL in R knee Saturday. Monday MRI to confirm.

Both he and Craig will be on the DL now. Sucks for the Cardinals. Good thing they have a whole ton of depth though.

That sound? It's the fantasy world rushing to add Matt Adams.

There's a story out there hinting that Berkman may retire because of the injury.

It didn't even look like he did anything. It was just a normal stretch for a ball at first. No contact, he just leaned forward and you could tell it gave out.

Neftali Feliz to the DL with a sore elbow (Still awaiting MRI results).

Holy unbelievable. I think that makes 7 players on my fantasy team now. Good thing I already changed my name to Team Disabled List.

EDIT: Actually, it makes 8. Andrew Bailey, Carl Crawford, Evan Longoria, Brett Gardner, Sergio Santos, Ryan Dempster, John Jay, and now Neftali Feliz

Quentin's value is closely tied to his ability to stay healthy. Once Quentin joins the Padres' lineup, don't be surprised to see him take off. Last season, with the White Sox, he hit for an average of .214 at home, compared to .294 on the road. A change of scenery and a clean bill of health might help Quentin produce great fantasy numbers. espn.com

How can going from USCF, where he hit .214, to one of the LEAST hitter friendly stadiums in baseball cause him to post great fantasy numbers?

Doesn't make any sense. So because he hit better on the road in 2011, and he's not playing at USCF in 2012, his numbers therefore have to go up? Hmmmm.

Aroldis Chapman arrested for driving 93 mph on suspended license

By Dayn Perry | Baseball Blogger

Reds lefty Aroldis Chapman was arrested early Monday in Grove City, Ohio, on charges of driving under suspension with a citation for speeding.

WLWT reports that Chapman was pulled over in a black Mercedes at 12:42 a.m. after being clocked at 93 mph. It was then discovered that Chapman was driving on a suspended Kentucky driver's license. He was taken into custody and then released after posting bond. Chapman did not appear in the Reds' win over the Braves on Monday night.

Insert perfunctory joke about Chapman's driving almost as fast as he throws.

BREAKING: #Angels outfielder Vernon Wells will miss 8-10 weeks due to surgery on ulnar collateral ligament in right thumb tomorrow.

Bad break for the Rangers, although I think they already have the division won

Looks like that crowded OF got a lot less crowded. Borujos and Trout in the OF? Holy s*** defense.
