justBLAZE
My response to Cowley last nite was: *yawn* I guess he got the cold shoulder treatment from many Sox fans as he is going off today about it. Oh and he managed to post this: http://t.co/nauMFLZC I guess this is where "Holly.wood" came from. Iwritecode
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Oct 18, 2011 -> 10:35 AM) Guillen was hired by chairman Reinsdorf. Williams needed a spy. Or Guillen could have just told KW what was going on like he was supposed to.

Oh and he managed to post this: http://t.co/nauMFLZC I guess this is where "Holly.wood" came from. I wonder if he will repeatedly post the same thing as Ozzie is on TV during the World Series? Oh wait, Cowardly doesn't say anything bad about Ozzie.
Wanne
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Oct 18, 2011 -> 10:41 AM) My response to Cowley last nite was: *yawn* This pretty much should sum it up right there. Those two (Ozzie and his b**** Cowley) just seem like two little kids that cry to get attention. f*** 'em both...
Rex Kickass
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 18, 2011 -> 11:35 AM) That's why they keep Herm. Plenty of rolls and crevasses.
Harry Chappas
Spies....really guillen lost his job because he could not win games and then forced the organization's hand and left when they put the onus to win on him and Williams for another year Cooper actually is good at his job. That is why he is still here. Spy, b****, call it whatever you'd like. again COOPER IS GOOD AT HIS JOB!!!! The rest of that clown car dugout was not. Chisoxfn
I've bashed Ozzie a lot and I think its time to go, but I don't think there was anything wrong with what he said in that piece.
RockRaines
The only coaches that were screwed over were Walker, Cora and Cox. Arguably Ozzie's 3 best pals. They were also probably the easiest to replace.
Paint it Black
"He backstabbed his fellow coaches, the guys he worked with for years. You got family? That’s fine. Everyone does." Ozzie, you really shouldn't be projecting yourself so much. It looks really bad.

mcgrad70
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 17, 2011 -> 09:10 PM) Calling copper Kenny's b**** doesn't strike you as unnecessary at least? Really was praying he'd keep his mouth shut. I'm glad Guillen's gone too but nothing would surprise me about Cooper. He's grossly overrated as a pitching coach. The entire staff and Kenny should have been terminated. Edited October 18, 2011 by mcgrad70
Milkman delivers
I find it sickening that Cooper isn't allowed to go over the head of his boss, but that's exactly what Ozzie did and it couldn't be more acceptable.

He's grossly overrated as a pitching coach. The entire staff and Kenny should have been terminated. What exactly about the last 10 years of White Sox baseball suggests that our current pitching coach is anything other than one of the top ones in the game? southsider2k5
So to recap the questions that the truthsayer didn't ask... -If Cooper is a backstabber for being back with the Sox, what does that make Harold Baines? -If loyalty is so important, why didn't Ozzie take Greg Walker and Jeff Cox with him? -If Cooper is Kenny Williams' b**** for telling Kenny what is going on in the locker room, what does that make Joe for telling the general public Ozzie's version of what is going on in the locker room? -What happened to the promise about not writing about Guillen for three weeks? -The Sox had Guillen under contract for 2012 because he asked for, and received, the exercise of his option last year. When you factor in that guys like Joe Torre and Tony LaRussa have managed on to the last year of their deal multiple times, what makes Ozzie think he is more deserving of a deal than guys who will be Hall of Fame managers? -If Kenny Williams is "Hollywood" for a very short cameo on a Chicago themed tv show, what does it make Ozzie Guillen for going on to things like Fox and ESPN for TV coverage, not to mention the facebook account, the twitter account, and the webpages? Why doesn't Joe call out someone like AJ for going on TV and even on wrestling shows? -If Don Cooper is wrong for going over Ozzie's head to go to Kenny for an extension when he doesn't have a contract for 2012, why isn't it wrong for Ozzie to go over Kenny's head to Jerry Reinsdorf, when he already has a deal for 2012? Am I missing anything that any objective columnist would have asked Ozzie at some point?

Kenny didn't have a spy to take his place. 9,000 comments better than this one? “Since last year, this was about integrity, it was about loyalty, it was about do they want me here. I would rather see him write nothing, than the one sided steaming load. I know the guy is pissed because Kenny won't give him the time of day, but how is that an excuse to ignore the massive amounts of hypocrisy in the Guillen story? He has no problems asking the questions of Kenny, why is he scared to ask them of Ozzie?

I'd rather know information from one side than get no information at all. I think I'm intelligent enough to understand Guillen has an agenda and can take that into account when reading about this. fathom
Here's the thing...everyone knows that KW and Ozzie disliked each other. However, if Cowley wants to investigate the 2011 White Sox, I'd rather know about what issues haunted Dunn, etc. Was it due to Dunn's work ethic? Eating fried chicken and drinking beer between innings? No one cares anymore about the Ozzie/KW dynamic. That story died the second Venutra was hired and Theo to the Cubs gained steam.
