Balta1701
QUOTE (Tex @ Oct 19, 2011 -> 11:06 AM) Kenny? Cooper? If we are talking about journalists in general, as it appears you did, how does a journalist become enough of an expert to challenge someone on every subject under the sun? Imagine some journalist challenging you about geology. Now imagine the same journalist interviewing another geologist about what you said. Which is better? Which will be more beneficial to the audience? If they're doing a stellar job...both. That would mean they actually know the issue well enough to ask me about it...and that they actually know the people who disagree on whatever subject well enough to ask them for an alternate opinion. He is taking it, and reinforcing it with his own opinions and commentary, while ignoring the hypocrisy of his work, and of his one sided interview. Balta1701
QUOTE (Tex @ Oct 19, 2011 -> 11:12 AM) And tomorrow they do a story on the economy, then issues from the local firefighters contract the next. It just isn't practical. Which is why you have specific reporters assigned to specific beats sometimes. That's why you might have one guy who is a "Science reporter", where he is familiar with some literature and is able to ask the right questions/get the appropriate responses. In this case, you might have specific reporters assigned to say "Cover the sports beat" in a particular city, where that reporter knows both the Manager and the other issues involved. Or if it was a big enough team, you might even have a reporter or two dedicated to covering a specific team for a paper. You might have a reporter for the Sun Times on the White Sox beat, for example. A person like that might well be expected to know the issues regarding the White Sox well enough to ask an informed question or two in reply. Unless Joe Cowley is doing a story on the economy today. NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 19, 2011 -> 10:05 AM) ^All of this^ Seriously, why is this even being discussed anymore? It's the board vs. Marty, greg, and occasionally elrockinMT, and they cannot be swayed from their opinion which the rest of the board finds moronic. That's all. Even elrockin isn't really defending Ozzie, he's just generally loyal and positive about the team. The only ones defending Ozzie are marty and greg.
