Big Hurtin
Wow! Pokerstars settles, and buys Full Tilt. http://www.latimes.com/business/money/la-f...0,7844907.story
cabiness42
That had been rumored for quite a while--good to see that it's finally done. I suck enough at poker that I hardly ever had a balance on FT but I know several friends who had 4-5 figure balances.
Y2HH
I haven't played seriously in a long time...I miss it.
GoodAsGould
This makes me wonder, why would Pokerstars do this unless having knowledge that online poker will be returned to the United States in the near future. If that happens I'll be ecstatic.
SoxFan1
My poker experience? Being incredibly impatient and aggressive, going all-in when I shouldn't and either winning a lot of money or losing a lot of money. Every time.

I'm assuming you mean the Horseshoe up by you (Hammond) and not the one by me at the other end of the state. I haven't been there, but I would expect that a $100 weekday tournament in Hammond gets anywhere between 50-100 players. If this is your first time in a casino poker room, one bit of advice: never bluff, people in low buy-in ($100 or less) tournaments don't fold. They call thinking their top pair with a terrible kicker is good even with flush and straight possibilities on the board.

I don't even bluff on pokerstars so i should be good in that regard, I always play super tight until I win a big hand then I may play a little more loose depending on what I have. cabiness42
Need to revive this thread to tell you about my wife's 40th birthday party. My wife turned 40 Friday, and for her birthday she wanted to have a poker-themed party, which we did last night. We had a $40 buy-in tournament, with a $40 bonus bounty for knocking out my wife. We had 20 people show for the tournament, and once the tournament dwindled down, we had two tables of cash games running. At one point, there was about $2000 in play between the two tables. Chicken feed compared to casinos but quite a bit for our game. My wife got sloppy drunk and lost quite a bit, but I had an incredible night and won enough to cover her losses plus most of the cost of the party. Well I do, but that's probably farther than you're willing to go to find a game. There is a site called homepokergames.com. It's a good place to find local games.
