clujer420
As reported by chisox.com http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cha Who is making this decision? It's genius! Why didn't we think of it sooner? About f***ing time. Ya know, as a manager, you have to give your employees (and the group as a whole) the best possible chance to succeed. To my knowledge, PK does not have a problem going from 1B to DH, but apparently Frank does (his career numbers at each of the "positions" are VERY telling, and do not lie), so JM needs to cater to that. Call it a "mentally weak" flaw if you wish, but it is what it is -- and nobody will doubt that the Sox are a MUCH better team when Frank is hitting the ball as compared to what he's been doing lately (although, he DID have the GW RBI today ), so I'm all for this move. Jordan4life_2003
I'm all for puttin Frank in the field. I just don't wanna hear anyone b****in when Frank makes dumb ass errors at 1st base. Hopefully he won't make any that costs us a game...

With this board, like some others around The Net, it is sacrilege to say anything bad about Thomas even when it needs to be said and still call yourself a White Sox fan. kevingrt13
Hell yeah! Finally Jerry makes a fuking rite decision on the starting line-up card! Somebody should have told him this when Frank started slumping! If only Jerry could be like Bobby Cox, we might win the whole thing this year! With this board, like some others around The Net, it is sacrilege to say anything bad about Thomas even when it needs to be said and still call yourself a White Sox fan. The views of 1 or 2 do not compose the opinion of "this board", do they? And for the record, I defend Frank against his critics when I deem it's unwarranted criticism. Like for example, Frank is struggling lately, but if someone starts bagging on him for it, they better bag on Magglio just the same, because over their last 10 games, both are extremely cold. All I expect is fairness -- not someone playing favorites just for the sake of playing favorites.
witesoxfan
Hell yeah! Finally Jerry makes a fuking rite decision on the starting line-up card! He's made all wrong decisions since the break, yet we've won 17 of 23? If only Jerry could be like Bobby Cox, we might win the whole thing this year! Bobby Cox, the manager who's been to the postseason 11, and soon to be 12 straight times, and been to the World Series 5 times, yet has only one ring? You could say that about Joe Torre, but not Bobby Cox.

I won't b****, but not for that reason. I won't b**** because I've been calling for that move for a while now, and if I complain about the move IF Frank butchers a couple of balls, I'd have to argue with myself ALL OVER THIS BOARD!!! Knowing how I can get, I'd probably get BOTH OF ME banned!!!
southsider2k5
You HAVE to let Frank play some first base and see if we can get his bat to catch fire in the middle of Carlos, Maggs, and Pauly, and now even guys like Jurrasic and Robbie. We are scoring 7 runs a game since the ASB, can you IMAGINE if Frank goes off like he did during interleague play?
YASNY
It's obvious that Frank is a much better hitter when he plays 1st base... But, damn, he needs to learn how to be just a DH. He's not getting any younger.
VAfan
When Frank does get hot with the bat after picking up his glove, will JM finally see the light and play him there enough to keep him hot through October?? The splits are unbelievable.

The splits are unbelievable. I don't understand why he stopped playing 1B in the first place. Unless I'm imagining things, Frank cooled off a bit, but he was still hitting very well, and PK was doing the same at DH as he was before the move, so why did Frank all of a sudden go back to DH? The Bones
I don't understand why he stopped playing 1B in the first place. Unless I'm imagining things, Frank cooled off a bit, but he was still hitting very well, and PK was doing the same at DH as he was before the move, so why did Frank all of a sudden go back to DH? I believe frank had a minor injury which prompted him to be moved to dh awhile back. But, he has long recovered from that. That aside, is everyone forgetting frank's mvp-like 2000 season? Yeah, he played dh. Why can't he get back to that form? I hope that the move to 1st helps frank, but he needs to learn how to stay hot while hitting dh.
