Quin
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 10:39 AM) My entire attitude towards Buehrle will swing as far is it possibly can in the blink of an eye if he does that. I will cry and then probably hate Buehrle. Then cry because I'd hate Mark.

RockRaines
There is no way they sign Buehrle. He wouldnt sign there and anything they would sign him for the Sox would be able to match.

Cali
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 12:34 PM) A manager with experience? How foolish. flavum
QUOTE (Cali @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 02:55 PM) I honestly wonder if Theo was taking a little dig at the White Sox at the same time of diffusing any Sandberg rumors. I think he doesn't give one s*** about the White Sox, nor should he. But I do think that saying that one of the criteria for the new manager is having major league managerial or coaching experience was to communicate to everyone that Ryne Sandberg will not be a candidate. Kalapse
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 10:21 AM) No hoops. Hockey? Yuck. Bears talk usually gets going Thursday through Saturday. And the White Sox just signed Jeff Manto. It's somewhat understandable. Yeah, this is kind of a big deal. The Cubs just went from an archaic, joke of a front office to a big boy, modern organization run by people who know what the f*** they're doing. It's the biggest story in the city right now. The past month or so has been a f***ing nightmare given the moves on both sides of town and it's probably only going to get worse in the years to come. Getting rid of Ozzie was a chance for a complete facelift for the entire culture of the organization and what do we do? The same old same old. Can't wait to try to squeeze a competitive diamond of of a piece of s*** team in 2012. It just won't work.

Hell these hires (and the retention of KW) could end up working out in the end but that does absolutely nothing for my current mental health and nothing the Sox have done over the past month has inspired a shred of confidence in the fan base. Meanwhile we're forced to watch while across town Tom Ricketts has done exactly what he promised when he bought the Cubs: blow up the pathetic, losing culture that has overwhelmed that franchise for generations. Not only has he radically altered the trajectory of his franchise he's seemingly done it flawlessly to this point. The Cubs get Theo who sells his vision about as well as anyone and we get the perpetually vexed KW, things are good.
chetkincaid
Eh... I'm not sold on Theo Epstein and his buddies like everyone else. He has to show me what he can do without having the 2nd biggest payroll in the MLB every season. And it's not like I'm a Cub hater. I just don't see the fascination with this guy. I say that KW will win another ring with the White Sox before Epstein ever wins one on the northside.

Well, if you are talking about Hendry, then that might be true, but they've had VERY capable people in that chair previous like McPhail.
