LittleHurt05
QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 4, 2012 -> 04:43 PM) Big Z is about to be Ozzie Guillen's problem. LOL, not a huge surprise. They are already spending like gang-busters, so what's one season of Z at a high cost(assuming the Cubs don't pay that much.) Plus, they want to attract as much attention as possible to their team, Z excels at that. He has to waive his no -trade clause, so get ready for the "told you players like to play for Ozzie" crowd to step up.

EvilJester99
The Marlins and Cubs have agreed to a trade that will send Carlos Zambrano to Miami for Chris Volstad, reports Bruce Levine of ESPN Chicago (Twitter links). The trade is still pending physicals and approval from the commissioner's office according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (Twitter links). The Cubs will pay between $15MM and $16MM of Zambrano's $18MM salary.
flavum
Johnson, Buehrle, Zambrano, Nolasco, Sanchez...that should be good enough for a solid 3rd place finish.

Balta1701
Volstad is even arb-eligible this year, so he'll probably get a million or two in salary. The fins effectively picked up no money.
