True, but Liverpool were up 3-0 in the 55' and frankly, should have been up 5 or 6-0 at that point with some of their missed chances. If they could have scored a couple more it would not have been impossible that they could have turned the GD around. Not likely, but it at least would have made Sunday a little more meaningful.

And from a betting standpoint, the over in Sunday's Liverpool game would essentially be free $$$

Still piling forward at 3-1 up with 10 minutes to go was stupid in the extreme. They were 7 behind in goal difference and would have had to score minimum 9 goals in 100 minutes to win it on GD, likely 11 or 12.

Well, with absolutely nothing to play for, Villa has decided to pull a Chelsea and have parked the bus with all 11 men within about 5 feet of the 18

And City finally breaks through. What a nasty, nasty rain.

That 4th goal from Yaya. My god, someone his size shouldn't be able to do that.

With the form he and Gervinho are in right now, Ivory Coast has the capability of making some noise

Man, that Champions League final result really pisses me off. It would have been cool to see someone different win the Champions League. Atletico works so damn hard when they play and did so again today. Just didn't have enough in the tank.

Real Madrid are such villains, too. Sergio Ramos is one of the nastiest players in the game and he's the one to get the equalizer. Marcelo and Coentrao are also assholes when they play. On top of that, Bale gets the lucky winner despite a really poor match overall. I like Bale, but he didn't deserve that today.

Barcelona: Messi, Neymar, Suarez

Real Madrid: Ronaldo, Bale, James Rodriguez, Karim Benzema

That's absurd. It's also kind of disappointing to see the hoarding of the best strikers in the world all in the same place

The lack of parity in La Liga is kind of lame. At least EPL fluctuates a bit. Athletico winning La Liga last year was good for parity, but let's not kid ourselves that anyone else has a chance outside of Real, Athletico, or Barcelona.

Atletico got raided this offseason. They won't be much of a contender.

It's not that different in other countries either. Bayern, Juventus, Ajax, PSG all dominate. The EPL has the advantage that multiple teams have giant budgets, so there is enough high priced talent through out that a bunch of teams could win.

You're just looking at recent history. Yes, the top clubs all have a huge advantage and generally finish at the top but the way it is in La Liga is absurd. Since 1984, only 4 titles have been won by someone other than Real Madrid or Barcelona, Atletico last year, Valencia twice and Deportivo. Bayern's absolute dominance is relatively new. They've won a ton of titles but they haven't run away like they until recently. There is generally more competitiveness throughout that league. Serie A is generally a three team race with Juve/Inter/AC Milan but Napoli, Roma and Lazio have won in recent memory too. And PSG in France is a new Arab money phenomenom. 6 different French clubs have won the title in the past 10 years

Good points, especially about France. I always thought of PSG as a bit of a sleeping giant though. Lyon won 7 titles in a row and had some nice Champions League runs in the 2000s.

Felipe Luis to Chelsea as well. The blues are absolutely stacked. Excited to see what the plan is with Cech and Courtois

One of them will get transfered and it won't be the much younger one. Cech is still really good though.
