Ventura "noogie" won't be shown in Arlington in 2012

That crap is so overblown and weak anyway. People who say "he kicked his ass', I think, have never been in a proper fight in their lives.

Robin gets headlocked, while being held onto by two other people, smacked a couple times in the top of the head, and doesn't even bleed. The whole thing is over in like 3 seconds or less.

And people still talk about it here like he was KO'd or hospitalized. Or that its sooooo embarrassing to lose a fight. Get a grip people.

This.

And Ventura wasn't into that fight, he was standing up for his team with a show of defiance.

I can't imagine how hard a person would have to punch in order to cause another person to bleed from the top of their skull.

That's my point. It doesn't even hurt to get punched in the top of the head. The guy is more likely to hurt his hand.

Ryan owned a restaurant up on a reservoir a couple hours north of me. Long story short, when he tells the story he mentions at first he was thinking Oh s***, then as Ventura gets closer he sees his eyes go wide and confusion kind of sets in. I believe I've heard Ventura say as soon as he took off he realized it would be like fighting his grandpa and realized he was in a no win situation. Beat up gramps? Stop? So he kind of half assed the fight.

Nolan Ryan ranches/d long horn steer for a hobby, and could still throw 95 when he retired at 48. He could have killed Ventura if he really wanted to. I have no doubt about it.

Hypothetical:

What if it had been Frank that charged the mound?

Or this guy...

Too bad he was still with the Indians at the time.

Nolan Ryan was overrated anyway. People don't talk about how he got his ass kicked by Dave Winfield. They NEVER show clips of that in Arlington.

That doesn't change the fact that Robin lost that "fight" pretty decisively. If your criteria for deciding a fight is one guy bleeding from an area of the body only likely to bleed if smashed with a hammer, then there's never going to be a winner.

IMO Ventura didn't really have time to retaliate. They were all over him while he was being punched in the head.

I just watched that clip on YouTube, and I'd hardly say Winfield kicked his ass. He seemed to land the first (and only) punch before the entire thing turned into a brawl.

Isn't that the case with most baseball fights though? They're not like hockey fights where they're allowed to duke it out.

If Robin really wanted to inflict damage, he wouldn't have been the one to innitiate contact with a p**** bear hug. He would have thrown a girly punch like all baseball fights nowadays.

Yeah, baseball players seem like such p*****s when fighting.

I'm sure there are a few cases of guys landing some really good punches. The problem is that you said Ryan had his ass kicked by Winfield when he clearly did not.
