caulfield12
If I was Mark Zuckerberg, I'll be all over that...I wouldn't buy the White Sox though, because there are a lot better investments out there. Although with the current state of the franchise, it would be a big challenge to turn things around, obviously.
Soxbadger
I wonder if players had their attorneys review the books and do due diligence on their ability to pay out these contracts. If I was Pujols attorney I would have definitely told him that $250mil from Moreno is much more likely to be paid than $287 from Loria. I think A-Rod lost money due to the Texas bk. iamshack
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 12, 2011 -> 06:25 PM) HOLY f***ING BACKLOADED CONTRACT Buerhle with #Marlins: $6M in 12, 11M in 13, 18M in 14 and 19M in 15. Deal also includes 4M signing bonus, deferred without interest. #MLB He's going to be untradeable anyways. I love Mark, but holy hell. This is what the agents of Mark and Jose did as a result of the team refusing to offer no trade clauses. The more backloaded those contracts are, the more difficult it will be to trade the player. Soxbadger
Or conversely, the more amount of unsecured debt you can discharge.

A-rod gets his money. The Rangers sold for close to 600 million. More than enough to satify the secured and unsecured(like a-rod) creditors.
